I was sitting in the living room and all of a sudden there was this very loud noise, sounded like a pack of dogs or coyotes, I thought. It was driving Hattie nuts. Then my neighbor called me to come outside. It wasn't dogs or coyotes. It was owls. 
They were so loud! I don't think I've ever heard one in person, not even at a zoo.
This is a picture she got of one of them a couple months ago, on our roof. I'm going to have to watch and make sure one of them doesn't take a run at Hattie when we're outside.
But it looks so cool! I'm becoming a real wildlife nut lol.

Have swapped beaches for mountains. That's the beauty of NZ, whatever terrain you like, most of it is here. Great food too!
I am pretty sure discussion would end up being political. Best to stick to electronic crickets and top hats.

Great news that it went well and that it has already improved things for you. It stinks about needing a replacement but at least you know what you are dealing with. Sending hugs and healing vibes your way.
When I got my hip replaced they told me that I had a lot of arthritis in my lower back and SI joints

Again, if they know the source of the drones but refuse to tell us, that is bad news.
Worse, they do not know the source of the drones and are afraid to admit it.
I am not a conspiracy theorist, but the entire affair could simply be misinformation, disinformation, distraction. This is a well-documented DOD tactic relative to UFOs, or whatever they're calling them these days.
Whatever the truth, not a good look.
I don't know if you noticed, but the article I posted regarding two miscreants fooling around with drones near Logan also included reports by Massachusetts residents of drone activity.
So this phenomena, whatever it is, has occurred in several Eastern seaboard States.
What *that* means, who knows.

Yep. The scenery here is really not much different to what you get in those states, although they are probably a bit greener, especially Montana. Also a very beautiful part of the world, sounds like a great trip! The Grand Teton NP is a real favorite of mine.
NZ is obviously a bit of a journey from the US (think it's about a 13 hour flight from the west coast) but it's well worth it, especially if you love nature and/or adventure activities. The local Maori culture is interesting too. You can see a lot within a pretty small area, and the currency exchange would work out quite well for Americans. Met a few on our travels here so far. One to keep considering perhaps.
