It's not bad value, but there's absolutely no way I put McCarron on the table for a rental.

Hanzal kind of is a 3rd line guy himself. Certainly not a 2nd line center on a team that's aiming for the cup.

True, but 40 points is low end 2nd line C/high end 3rd line C production. I don't really see Big Mac getting to 40 points, at least not consistently. I don't think his potential is higher than Hanzal's.

Definitely not, it's just that if there's a need at center for the Habs, it's for a bonafide 2nd line productive center. Not a guy like Hanzal, or at least not if it costs us McCarron.

Hanzal(50%)+'17 5th for Desharnais+McCarron

Would never, ever, EVER happen.

The only reason Mike is in St. Johns right now is because he is waiver exempt. Played extremely well during training camp and there's an influx of young forwards in Montreal right now (Andrighetto, Carr, Lehkonen).

I don't love Hanzal enough to move Mike for him.

I would walk away from making a deal if the Yotes demanded it.

anything that chayka can get for Hanzal will be a plus for this franchise. Guy is constantly hurt and im assuming Yotes have no interest resigning him after the year.

Im hoping to see Chayka get a real big return to add to this impressive group he is putting together

hes 29 now and peaked 41 points in his career thus far, hes injury prone aswell and mcarron has more potential than Hanzal imo

Never argued otherwise. Just disagreeing McCarron is a 21 year old Hanzal. Maybe down the road McCarron is a 22, 23 or 24 year old Hanzal, or maybe even better then Hanzal at those ages. At the moment McCarron isn't a 21 year old Hanzal though.

I find it suspicious that nearly every Habs proposal i've seen for quite some time now involves Hudon.

Just a question.
Why is Arizona after a young center with Strome and Dvorak?
Is the plan to move one to wing? Or just want another?

It's because everyone's afraid of trading away any of our defencemen-prospects Juulsen & Sergachev, and for some reason McCarron & Scherbak. The next best thing after those 4 is Hudon, who happens to be a C too. Everyone knows that JDLR (also a C) won't get traded, and Habs need a C now. Trading Hudon that is great for a good 2C is what needs to be done if MTL wants to go far in playoffs this year.

They want a young NHL ready centre. Seems like the Yotes don't think Dvorak or Strome are NHL ready, based on their usage.
