Actually the "skambud" offer or taking a "discount" basically implies that. The getting paid what he deserves language as well.

Hopefully someone offer sheets him even if ANA matches so his price gets driven up.

Not liking this thought process. As a season ticket holder for my team and a fan of hockey NO one should be hoping for inflated salaries that make franchises non viable. The never ending rise in salaries mainly gets dumped on our laps (the people who buy the tickets). There was a time when pro athletes were ridiculously used / abused by the owners and teams but that is ancient history. All players are vastly over paid compared to the real world. Kudos to them but the reality is if Sidney Crosby made 3 million and everyone else made less they would all still play and do just fine.

Entertainment prices in North America aside, to me the quotes tell me that BM is trying to bridge Lindholm with a smaller cheaper deal. He feels he is worth what guys like Rielly, or Jones are making and as such a bridge would look like a bad deal. Simple truth is that generally with players of Lindholms ilk the bridge vs long term deal doesn't really amount to much in the way of difference of actual money spent. The only real difference is where the risk lies.

Google translate says economical, but translate.com says "lean". I don't speak Swedish so I don't know what it exactly says lol.

Either way, I respect Lindholm for wanting to set a precedent for his comparables, but sign already, damn it!

And the beat goes on...

There's a small handful of Buffalo fans here who are evidently utterly neurotic over the possibility of Ristolainen getting poached via an offer sheet (despite it not being very likely due to the very nature of offer sheets), and they've been consoling themselves all summer by insisting that every other RFA RHD out there is MORE vulnerable, and snapping at anyone who dares suggest that there's no vulnerability. They did this with Jones, they did this with Barrie, they've been doing this with Trouba, and they're doing this with Lindholm here (as they have for most of the summer). Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if they were doing this with Orlov, although I haven't seen that personally.

And at this rate, it seems they'll keep doing it until Risto is signed. :dunno:

You're getting all worked up for nothing. No one is offer sheeting anybody right now from what I've read on Twitter. Lindholm and Trouba are all in contractual conversations with both franchises. It's just absolutely mind boggling you guys are spending time on what ifs right now.

Someone call Tim Murray he's onto us...yikes go home with these reaches and generalizations of fanbases. For every sabres fan who dreamed of lindholm there was another saying no way it'll never happen...

Edmonton makes some sense . They have almost 9 million in cap space . with some dead weight coming off next year . If they did they would probably have to make a deal with Boston to retain their 2nd and to free up some cap space for bonuses .

Lindholm Larsson :)
Klefbom Sekera :handclap:
Davidson Fayne

Oesterle

Trade Yakupov , Move Nurse . Fayne if possible . Move any bottom D or bottom 6 that opens up about 5 million in cap space . I would even Move Sekera if possible NTC to open that 5 million Maybe even make a trade for Brodin . how sweet our D would be .

Why? Just keep nurse and let him develop. Stupid move if you ask me.

As a Devils fan id be very happy if they threw a 7 year $50 million contract. If they match they match who cares.

Here is a quote of my post, with some helpful extra highlighting and emphasis added for the part you evidently missed:

Read what you quoted more carefully (particularly the first sentence). You are generalizing your own fan base far more than Viqsi even did (not that he/she did at all).
