Lindholm basically calls ANA "cheap" according to some Swedes who have translated the article.

Buffalo could make a lot of sense as they have the cap room to make an offer sheet. Do it BUF, take Lindholm out of the Pacific. Him feeding Eichel the puck could look damn good .

NJD looks like they have some cap room as well to do it.

I doubt that is the case Lindholm was probably just saying negotiations have been tougher then expected. I also don't see Buffalo or the Devils going the offer sheet route when they could try to make a regular hockey deal work instead.

To be fair, the conditions on the Ruutu trade that involves a 3rd to Carolina are completely unknown. I've only seen a single source say something either way.

It's also entirely possible that the conditions include NJ being able to send a 3rd of their choice, etc.

Yes OR the total $ value of the contract divided by 5 = 9.3 M (or more).

So if he signed, say, a 7 year deal worth 50 M, it would cost them 4 first rounders.

If NJ has their third, I would debate going into the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round pick territory. The better option would be to offer just below the 5.632 million.
