According to Gavin White in his CHCH interview, he’s expected to return next Tuesday (finally!).

Also, it appears no suspensions game from the game against Sarnia. The OHL has suspensions listed up to October 30.

We’ll see tonight. If he does, he could still be sent back later but the Ducks burn the first year of his ELC regardless of what they choose. I wouldn’t expect him to return at all.
Can Mctavish be sent to the AHL this year or can he be sent back to Junior. I feel that he has spent his time in Junior.

"There is another layer to this decision for players drafted out of the CHL. Per an agreement with the NHL, under-20 players taken out of the WHL, OHL or QMJHL must be returned to their junior teams if they don’t stick in the NHL. They aren’t eligible for the AHL until they turn 20."

Unfortunately his options are only NHL or OHL. AHL would be ideal for him though.

For CHL players in the AHL, they must turn 20 by Dec.31 or have played 4 seasons of major junior. There are a few exceptions: players can be sent to the AHL for conditioning, which happened with McTavish last year. Also if a player is in the CHL and their team is eliminated from the playoffs, their NHL team can assign them to the AHL to continue their season.

Didn't take long for Hayes to be put back with Mo and Humphrey. If they're going to try and balance the lines they should stick with it.

That bottom D pairing, woof.

Also, don't read Instagram comments. Most people have zero idea on OHL roster construction and turnover. It'll ruin your mood.

you just won an ohl championship, you shoudlnt be so easily moody :)

lol, fair point.

Watch them for a few games and tell me that I'm wrong though. You don't even have to watch the games, just watch the highlights and you'll see plenty. I mean the other teams highlights of course.

i just expect teams that win to struggle the following year, thats how it goes all the time. if you dont struggle and try to win again youll end up worse off in the long term

Totally agree.

This team will REALLY struggle to score goals once Morrison and Hayes are inevitably dealt.

I think this team just lacks skill.

Winterton and White should help in that area. Where the team is by the time Winterton gets back is a different story.

Very good effort by the boys today.

Adding Gavin White on D helps so much.

What a goal by Hayes. For the record he scored another "Kucherov" last year vs Mississauga as well.

The set play that led to the last goal was brilliantly designed. Congrats to whoever was behind that.

Wow, just read an article that says the Bulldogs won't have a home for pretty much 2 full seasons while the FOC reno is taking place.

I wonder if there will still be a team here when the reno is done.

What a mess.

I have a feeling they find a new home and don't come back, but after the reno a new team moves in.

What options do they even have? You can't play at Mountain. Not even for 1 year. How do you recruit picks to come when that's your facility.

Maybe Brantford Civic center for 2 years? I dunno. Between this and Andlaurer being interested in the Sens, seems not good.

Sometimes it's hard to watch white. I just try and focus on what he can do (which is a unique skill set to this D group) and not on what he struggles with.

The OT goal. You're bang on. They executed the set play to perfection. It was a thing of beauty.

You can't even blame Andlauer at this point. The city has went from telling him that the team could play through the reno to the team being homeless for 2 years.

I just hope the OHL will let the Dogs temporarily play out of Mountain Area or the Brantford Civic Center. Two seasons though is completely brutal and absurd. Andlauer has been nothing but a class owner, and to have the city continue to pull this crap on him. It's brutal.

As a fan from another OHL city who has seen a facility have multiple renovations over the past 20+ seasons. I can assure you this 1. The Bulldogs likely won't be leaving Hamilton anytime soon there really isn't any over places on the map that could play host to an OHL team.

2. If the OHL had any plans on moving a team out of Hamilton I think you would see another place on the map start clicking their heels to get it.

3. Every decision that the OHL makes on its member teams has to go through the Board of Governors annual meeting and I don't see any indication that the OHL has any intention of moving a team like the Bulldogs anytime soon.

You may see them use a temporary home, say making temporary home and former OHL arena CAA Centre (Formerly the Powerade Centre home of the Battalion from (1998-13).

I understand that the fans wouldn't like maybe traveling 40 minutes out of there way for a season but the only other option would be to have the Bulldogs start a season on the road for an extended period of time like what the 67's did a number of years ago with TD Place Arena.

As far as my knowledge the OHL will allow teams to use facilities that are up to league standards and being in a former OHL facility maybe one of a few options the Bulldogs have. Or play a season like the 67s did when they renovated TD Place until renovations are complete.

Best of luck to the Bulldogs on getting their facility renovations completed.

A Letter to Bulldogs Fans.

This weekend, I was as surprised as you are that the Bulldogs are going to be forced to leave our home at FirstOntario Centre for the upcoming two seasons. We had been told that the renovations would occur in a manner that would allow hockey to continue.

We 100% support the renovation to our arena, in fact, we have been calling for significant and necessary improvements for years. Our fans, community and sponsors deserve a facility that is as high quality as our two-time OHL Championship Bulldogs.

I had hoped, however, to have the opportunity to speak to you first with this shocking and unexpected news and come to you with a solution to the short-term location change. Unfortunately, other parties had different plans and chose to share the news prematurely.

As evidenced by the last seven years in Hamilton, I along with the entire Bulldogs leadership team, our players and our staff love Hamilton. We want to be in Hamilton. That is why in 2015 I purchased the Belleville Bulls with the express intent of moving them to the Hammer. Many didn’t think that OHL Hockey could thrive here, but you, the fans, the team and the sponsors, proved everyone wrong!

Over the coming weeks, my number one job is to find a home arena for the team for the upcoming two seasons. I know that we can find a solution that is convenient for our Bulldogs community and allows our players to continue with great Bulldogs hockey!

Over the coming weeks we will keep the Bulldogs’ community informed of next steps.

Until then, Go Bulldogs Go!

It might not be ideal... But would Hamilton fans be willing to make the trip to Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto as a temporary fix?

CAA in Brampton seems a little far and from what I understand from speaking to people that live near Hamilton, the seating capacity would be an issue at other rinks in the area.
