While the effort was disappointing yesterday, I thought it was an improvement from Friday. On Friday it seemed like their strongest effort came in the final minutes of the second period and the start of the third until Kingston scored 2 quick goals. The play around Drobac also seemed much more chaotic against Kingston, and because of it, he fell way out of position a few times. Yesterday the Bulldogs played a solid third period and focused on the game without getting as involved in extracurriculars during that period. While they still had troubles clearing their zone, the play seemed better controlled close to their net, which helped Drobac and allowed him to stay positioned much better.

Overall I think the biggest issues look to be clearing the puck out of our own zone and winning puck battles along the boards. I also think the Bulldogs have become too predictable - like seeing a dman repeatedly break out with the puck and dropping it back to a forward (usually Hayes) for the zone entry. Or last night during a power play in the 2nd period, the team kept feeding Hayes for the same shot 4 or 5 times, which sums up pretty much all Brochu faced that PP. Overall it was a solid PP (despite not scoring), but the chances were predictable.

Lastly, I don’t know what changed from last year, but we’ve had a lot of fights already and it seems like a few guys have more of a chip on their shoulder. I believe Friday’s game was the first game with less than 2 fights, and yesterday was their first game with none.

As if our D couldn't get any worse, Grushnikov suspended for 2 games for a slew foot.

No idea what you are referring too... Enlighten us.

Diaco, Hayes, Morrison, White and Costantini. Who else goes??? Would love to see Hayes in a Wolves jersey. Maybe the Wolves can deal Assadourian, Mauro and a pick for Hayes and Humphrey.

Last years playoff after game one Jay McKee complained to league officials that Petes were too rough and the league officials turned on Petes ? This is fact! Linesmen and officials told Petes bench several times they were sorry about the aweful situation! McKee has zero honour as a coach its hockey their is contact, its rough you keep your head up! Non contact OHL Coach Jay wants it that way lmao But OHL burried it! Chickenshit Branch

Tough few games but I think the Bulldogs will get it going sooner rather than later. Lots of talent on this team, just have to build chemistry.

You're much more hopeful than I am.

I hope that I'm wrong.

Getting White and Winterton back would be a good start. Not a lot of offensive skill on this team once you get past Morrison and Hayes.

What is Winterton’s status? Hockey DB doesn’t have him playing any games anywhere yet this year. Injured?

I don't think they're as bad as they've looked, but it's not pretty. Imagine the roster when they start unloading assets.

They're pretty bad and will be worse when Morrison and Hayes are gone.

Time to restock the cupboard anyways.

Drobac was great today. The refs weren't.

Really impressed by Voit. Such a slick player with great vision.

Drobac was fantastic. The shots don't tell the story on the chances they had.

The call on Grush was terrible. The late call, I dunno, not calling something on them was borderline, then Vanacker really gave them no choice. Then they lost control when Sarnia was head hunting at the end.

The last couple of minutes there were 3 high hits before Hayes fought Romeo.

You know the refs lost control when Morrison loses his cool. This is also a frustrated team. Young guys are learning and returning players are learning losing sucks.

The worst of the reffing was one of the refs (Wilmot) antagonizing and laughing directly at McKee after the game as officials tried getting everyone to leave the ice. McKee was already extremely heated after yelling at the Sarnia bench, and Wilmost added fuel to the fire rather than de-escalate the situation. Definitely one of the most unprofessional things I have ever witnessed from a ref.

I suspect we may see suspensions coming, and I wouldn’t be surprised if McKee is included. However, Wilmot should be as well for his unprofessionalism as an official.

I've seen that garbage from Wilmot before. The exact opposite of how an official should handle things.

Anyone have bad feelings about the shop having no jerseys and looking bare? Between that and the lack of in game presentation, some people around me think this team is about to announce bad news. Keeping in mind the arena reno that is coming.

Shop insists they just can't get jerseys in.
