Big day and a sad day for the Bulldogs.

Very sad to see Duarte go, but knew it was coming. Such a good kid.

On a high note, it's huge that Grushnikov is coming back to Hamilton. They really need him on the back end.

Was a 3rd liner mostly. Can score some goals. My guess would be 15 this year? Very good penalty killer that plays a physical game. Heart and soul type of player.

Fans will like him.

New leadership! Hayes, Winterton and Sherk get A’s. Great to see Morrison get the C.



I don’t recall much about watching Gill-Shane but he’s a 19 year old D who will have a veteran presence on the team.

Gill-Shane is a big body with smooth skates. Moves the puck fairly well out of his own zone. Leaves you wanting A LOT more in the physical department and sometimes has problems in front of the defensive zone net. If he could develop a bit of a mean streak, I think it would serve him very well.

I knew that Staios would make a move to pick up a vet Dman. It needed to be done.

Guelph needs to boost the D to make a run. Tonight they were without 2 of their top line forwards (Zhilkin and Pastujov) and their 3rd D (Profaca). Interested to see how these two teams stack up as last years lack of play between conferences meant I have less viewings. Do Bulldogs fans think they will make another run or sell off? Morrison is from Guelph you know. (c;

Hamilton was missing at least 3 pieces tonight. 2 top 6 forwards and a top pair Dman.

Gavin White (orbital bone), Ryan Humphrey (not sure) and Ryan Winterton (shoulder).

I expect the team to sell, but I guess we will find out. And yes I'm aware that Morrison is from Guelph. Any team that gets him is lucky to have him.

I am not aware of an injury. I'd guess they are exploring trade options before making the decision to have to release him.

With Morrison, Hayes, and Diaco being dressed last night, the OA situation boils down to White or Costantini. Dallas has yet to assign White to Hamilton, and I don’t know if others have seen Costantini with the team, but I haven’t seen him around and sitting in the stands during the preseason or in the Bulldogs’ new promo videos.

Being injured, I don’t think Dallas can assign White until he’s healthy enough, and I’m just speculating but maybe Hamilton doesn’t have to make an OA decision with White/Costantini since we technically have 4 when counting Costantini. I also wonder if White will eventually be assigned to the Texas Stars and we lose him, exactly like Geason.

Side note: Nathan Staios is in the lineup for the Florida Panthers vs Carolina today.
