I would have thought that a Hart trophy winner would have brought back more than it did. Teams know that the Bruins are desperate to sell and only offering dimes on the dollar in return.

Nice comaprison.

It's been quite a while (5 years) since Taylor Hall won the weakest Hart trophy award this century.

Hasn't had a single vote since.

What we are seeing is the end result of past years slopy cap management.

I'd say the complete opposite.

Brilliant Cap management. Let's see if the Houdini act can continue.

Maybe Foligno will stand outside Bedard's hotel room door during the playoffs instead of Bruins security having to do that for Seguin.
LOL do you really believe that BS? Let me guess you believe everything the government says too?

This happens everytime a Boston player who doesn't quite meet the local media's litmus test for game performance or aftergame quotes, so take it as you will. But the Boston Herald
published a story today with an interesting line thrown in there about how much Seguin wass partying:

It apparently got so bad that during the playoffs, the Bruins ordered Seguin to live in a hotel, where a guard was hired to make sure he stayed in his room.

No real attribution to where that intel came from, of course. Again, this shit happens every f****** time in Boston. Ference is one of 5 Boston athletes that have left the city and not got shat on by the media.

I never believed the hotel room story. I did believe the Horton wife's story. But there's nothing other than hearsay and anonymous sources to talk about either. Just a gut feeling of "that probably didn't happen" and "I could see that happening, explains a lot".

The last B's buyout I could find was Jimmy Hayes in 2018.
Jacobs wants Sweeney to own his mistakes, and I can't blame him. If I owned the team, I wouldn't want to be bailing out my GM every time he wrote a bad check with my checkbook.

Buyouts arent free. Stil count against the cap.
and, ultimately costs the owner less out of pocket.
So financially its moot.
Now wins - losses , tieing up cap, thats a different story.

Sooner than a 3rd, 4th or 5th round pick.
Yes faster than a mid round pick. When you get the pick you get a lotto ball. Could be a star. When you get the prospect further along the value becomes in the time to value. If one of these d plays 2-3 years for us under low value deals that can truly be helpful. Particularly this year. If one becomes a full time 3rd pair guy in this upcoming rebuild it improves this deal quite a bit for me.

Was reading a bit on Ian Mitchell,
Sounds like he has some offensive skill.

Could be a nice guy to have on the back end, potential gryz replacement?

I didn’t, I’m responding to the “scratching didn’t sit well with me”.

"...that's I guess where my focus goes as a player is alright, what can I do to make sure that I never put myself in that situation where a coach feels he can take me out of the lineup"

How did you not listen to the clip its like a minute long?

I just listened to it and he says the same thing I quoted. You guys are acting like the headline completely misrepresents what he said lol

It's not out of the ordinary for a player to not be ok with getting scratched. I would be more surprised if he said he was ok with it.
After the historic collapse it’s a little annoying to hear the 13th forward complaining about being healthy scratched, that’s all. At least he shouldn’t get health bombed on the Blackhawks.

I'm just wondering, what would you expect him to say instead? "I'm happy that I was even in the lineup"?

He's competitive...no athlete is happy with anything like that, even if it is justified.

Talk about being pissed they let it get to game 7. He was paid nearly $4M dollars a year, the fact that he was scratched at all is kinda pathetic IMO.

I’m happy he’s on a team that probably won’t healthy scratch him now.

It's the comparison to Backes. Backes was a completely different response.
I don’t remember exactly what Backes said but if I remember correctly it was a similar response. Backes didn’t agree with Cassidy’s decision and he let him know which is exactly what Foligno said about Montgomery. I get these guys are super competitive, but saying the coach should have played me in game 7 just comes across the wrong way to me.
