Insane that 3/4 Dmen in converstation is swedish.

In sweden we always knew that Lindholn is a great defender, with enormous ceiling, Lidström like, but more physichal.
Karlsson, EK65 is a beauty offensivly, but defensivly..
Dahlin is the dangler and the creative problem solver, always having a bright solution in the pocket.

I hope Dahlin takes it, I think hes the best, esp at both offense and defense.

It’s pretty incredible the talent Sweden is able to produce given it’s population size.

10 millilns is a lot thou. FInland is only 5 -6 millions. Un-imagible that they are almost on pair with sweden.
Denmark has 12 icerinks in total, unbelivable they actually got a league, the less NHL players and a NT that plays in a division and does well.

Czhech with 11 millions should have a lot to think about.

Dahlin.

I expect Makar to get “injured” closer to the playoffs to get some rest/treatment before the fun season starts.

Karlsson is on pace for 100+ points so it's him. Like if he scores 100 or more points there will be no chances for him to not win Norris.

Fun race this year with some new blood and then EK’s resurgence. I think it’s one of the Swedes right now, personally went with Dahlin.

Can someone post the fancy stats so we can see how they have been playing defensively?

Dahlin/Morrissey

Karlsson/Fox

As of now it's a 2 horse race. Though it'll be hard for Morrissey to actually get many votes in Winterpeg.

Hellebuyck won the Vezina in 2020.

If Morrissey does not win it, it's because voters deemed other defensemen more deserving. That said, I'd have him in my Top 3.

Lindholm ( and McAvoy, who most likely won't get considered because of the time missed ) have been excellent this year. Lindholm's offensive game has slowed a bit since his hot start, part of that being because McAvoy is back. Still, Lindholm's advanded stats are 1st or 2nd among the listed names and his normal stats are solid as well and his plus 27 leads the league.

I think if it were to end today, I would have the voting as

Dahlin
Morrissey
Lindholm

with Fox, Karlsson, and Heiskanen duking it out for the next few spots.

Vezina is voted on by GMs. I'd expect them to be more plugged in league wide than reporters.

That’s great.
I’m talking about the Norris though, not the scoring race.
Just curious, what would you say is the reason Morrisey isn't really a contender for Norris at this point. I get the same feeling, but what would you say are the reasons behind it?

He could use that time off. He is so far behind the rest anyway. Perhaps he can jump in on the pp though.

You mean like in 2016 when he finished 4th in points, 1st in assists, and still didn't win the Norris?

That's a 2022 equivalent of 110 points and he still lost the Norris.

If Karlsson hits 100, but other defensemen hit 90 points he's far far far from a lock.
