One thing I'm seeing is that teams have made huge adjustments on the PP to take away the Petey hammer and the only real adjustment he's made is occasionally he slap passes it, which thanks to our great powerplay formation, is usually to a sea of bodies that are not positioned well for a tip. That whole unit, it's set up and execution right now is horrible. Like, it might be the worst #1 unit I've seen since I started watching.

Hard to cheer for this player right now, especially coming off contract disputes where he sits out training camp.

Doesn’t look like the player that is hungry to win like we’ve seen before.

Green has been a big problem for the team and needs to go but he’s not the reason for Pettersson garbage play, that’s all on Pettersson. Pettersson is being gifted the chances to get on track and he’s not preforming. I hope he comes around.

Petey's poor execution is on him but it is Green's job to put him in a position to succeed....unless playing him more with Highmore and passing to Chiasson on the pp1 actually does improve his confidence but so far, doesn't appear to be working.

I think this is pretty much the sum of why he's really hearing it now.

Probably a little different if he signed in the summer. 6 games in now, it's time to get going.

Would be nice to see the top line win us a game for once.

How easily people forget the Sedins were close to being run out of town for 6 years before they became elite players. Everyone, including the papers, would took shots at calling them busts, soft, or sisters.

And Petersson did more in his rookie season than they did their first 5/6. How easily people forget how electrifying he was.....he brought a lot of fans back to hockey here in 2019.

there’s similarities for sure but the Sedins were always humbled. Pettersson sitting out wanting 10 million on term that takes him to UFA, deleting Canucks from his social media and saying he wants to play for a winning team doesn’t play well for him when he plays like crap.

He made about four or five plays in the third period alone that would've got a 4th liner/rookie stapled to the bench for the rest of game. These were low IQ, low effort plays in the dzone. Not too worried about him 6 games into the season, though, lets see where we are at the 25% mark.

The 3rd Period of the Kraken game was definitely his worst of the season, which is disconcerting: you might expect Pettersson to come out the gate this season a bit rusty and out of shape, but not to be getting worse by the 6th game of the season.

It looked like he was suffering from a combination of the yips, being rusty, being out of shape, and nursing some kind of injury. Just abysmal.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this guy did not do an ounce of training at the University of Michigan.

Do you have a source for this?

He looks like a player who missed half of last season, and then arrived for only the last week of training camp. If he's still this bad by game 30-40 or so, then the alarm bells start ringing.

But it's interesting that some people were wringing their hands about Pettersson only being signed to a three year bridge deal. But based on the way things are going, this might turn out as one of the Canucks shrewder moves. Simply put, he hasn't earned and eight or nine year contract.

Now would be a good time to mention his outfits look ridiculous too. So some malls have really expensive stores, and you went to those stores and bought an assortment of clothes in complementary colours that fit properly? Knock me over with a feather.

I’ve been saying it for ages..His lack of leg mass is holding him back. Without a proper set of pistons, he’ll only slow down and get less effective as he matures and puts on weight upstairs. Him and the trainers/nutritionists etc need to tackle this somehow..

Hasn’t regressed, but also hasn’t really progressed, still has a long way to go to become a dominant player.

Agreed, needs to add at least 10 lbs of muscle and develop much better lower body strength and balance.

Personally I think on the PP he should QB it from the half wall like Henrik used to. It will get him and the whole unit moving an the One T will open up organically. I find a lot of the issues to be coaching.

Yea it makes no sense to turn him into the big one-time shooter when he’s the best passing forward on the team, his one timer hasn’t been accurate in awhile and you have another shooter in Boeser who isn’t as strong in other areas. Yet for some baffling reason, Miller, who makes far too many terrible decisions with the puck and isn’t as good of a passer as he seems to think he is based on what he tries, is the main forward QB. Having someone who can both pass and shoot on the PP is hugely valuable and they’re wasting that with Pettersson.

This kid hasn't made a hit in his enitre NHL career that i can remember. Hard to believe but it's pre-2011 Henrik Sedin type of stuff. Insane how soft Ptey is

You don’t have to make hits to not be soft. Pettersson was anything but soft in the bubble playoffs. He battled his ass off in the corner and in front of the net. We haven’t really seen that same drive since though

Why are you bashing European hockey?

Tampa are back 2 back winners thanks to hedman, vasilevky and kucherov.

Good grief some of you guys.

You trade Pettersson if you think hes not a "good player" or more precisely if you think you can get something more valuable to your organisation back.

You dont trade him because your feelings got hurt.
