Post-Game Talk: Habs

The Rangers have turned the corner defensively in the last stretch outside of this game. No one mentions it. We win in shutout fashion where we allow like 8 shots in the last two periods to a team on a 6 game winning streak and no one says anything positive. In fact people say how they're mediocre. We play a bad game defensively and once again this the worst defense ever. This board literally has no break on complaining about this team. And this year with a mediocre record I can somewhat get it. We were doing it for three f***ing straight years win or lose when our worst record was 107 points. It's really f***ing tiring. And somehow because I flip my shit on goalies people say that I'm negative and angry. Yet I'm one of the few people that once in a while sees something other than "this is worst team ever". But because everyone loved Hank I got a reputation as this angry negative poster. When this whole board is one angry and negative place every game. Win while playing well, lose when playing well, lose when playing poorly, win when playing poorly. It lterally doesn't matter what the result is.

And this is literally every thread on every topic. Every former player is amazing. Shockingly enough when they were here they were bums. Every current player sucks. Other than goalies once in a while because if you credit the goalie and "muh PP" then you don't have to admit that a team is halfway decent with the best record in the NHL and and ECF berth.
I'm not interested in rehashing the philosophical implications of their last three seasons.

They suck now.

Even with the turn around, they're 23rd in xGF%. They're exactly where they deserve to be.

i dunno. i had fun watching game breaker bread, and last year, and kid line '23. it was fun to watch. tonight was, too.
Like, if you're searching for answers why Kakko and Laf and whoever never 'developed' it's because they didn't have superlative individual skill at 19 years old to do magical Bread things, have a 95 MPH accurate 1 timer like Mika had, hit deflection goals that no one knew were possible like Kreider consistently did.

The teams been built around THAT as their win condition. We're seeing what it's like when individual brilliance isn't hitting. No wonder the kids look super pedestrian.

Maybe everyones right with the development failing them part, and I'm wrong. Just for a different reason than Mark Ciacaco not skill instructing them properly or whatever the f***.

I would have entertained keeping Panarin earlier in the year.

I'm kind of over this version of him. He's not 3 points in a can like he used to be.

With the exception of last year where he was obviously great in the regular season, this is kind of who he has been since year 3 of his contract.

Can't deny some of the magic he's had here (his first year and last year) but I really wish he had picked the Islanders instead.

People blaming Fil or Ck on that game winner might be correct. But even with those 2 crap efforts, Miller has an easy chance to cover for them and he did nothing, nada. The 3rd Canadian was holding back at the blue line. He wasn't a factor. Why the hell is Miller staying so far left and allowing Laine a free skate at the net? He's got to recognize that. He's either lazy, lackadaisical or just clueless.

"Fine" is the best they've done. You're acting like they won 16 in a row before this.

I'm talking about in general. But recently they were 5-0-2 and we get no break from the board whinning. Not even you necessarily. No they're not some juggernaut. However, they're frankly not any worse than the Capitals were last year. And look where they are now. Everyone is drooling over the Capitals. But this team is some irredeamably awful team, every post. Every post. Not you specifically but in general.

i get that, and re: development, i agree. it's just funny that a smart savvy well run org like carolina can build for years around solid forwards, smart puck moving D, good skating ability, and then thus f***ing clown car of noncents opens up to take wet smelly dump on their nice structured approach.

im pretty sure this coaching staff is adamant that defensemen need to stay with their man above all else.

People are sick of their shit. A lot of people were sick of the way they play when they were winning 55 games.

I don't think he's anticipating Kreider rolling out the red carpet for Guhle.

You can't expect him to account for all 3 Habs on the ice.
