4 quick thoughts.

1. Borgen has been making some good plays lately.

2. Chy, CK, and Miller played that last play pretty soft. I understand some cushion 3 on 3 but that was too easy imo.

3. Team still is gaining points in the last 8. A lot better than the previous 15-20 games.

4. I should stop eating Peanut M & Ms. I have a stomach ache 😠

LOL. Aren't you just f***ing tired of continuous goalie blaming? Almost 40 shots against. Got peppered out there tonight.

You know I'd take your opinion about goalies more seriously if you didn't defend them even when we play well defensively. You were defending Igor against Colorado when team shut them down and he gave the game away.

I don't care how many shots he faced. When the game tying goal is a Mike Dunham rebound you're a big part of the problem.

We trade away talented players we drafted, they struggle to succeed, we trade them away and they magically find their game outside of NYC. It's been a thing for decades.
This team is fundamentally very bad.

They find ways to win to varying extents but people have been beating the drum for years that they don't do basic NHL things right. And we're not even talking about being a good team. Many of the bad teams have basic fundamentals down.

A breakout scheme, how to attack in the offense zone, playing with NHL-caliber team speed; we don't do any of it.

Nobody who played high-level hockey for their entire lives is going to come here and know what to do. They'll suck at first, and then either get down how we play mediocre hockey (Laf) or just never get it (Kakko).

frankly, the standard you hold these goalies to is just unfair.

Kreider is so f***ing lazy defensively. Or he is hurt. Or both. Its actually both. And Lavy said screw it throw him out there in 3v3 OT. Gives away possession on one shift. Then lets a guy skate right by him the next shift. Skate by him. Skating is the one thing he is good at and he couldnt keep up.

say, friend, how about you kindly remove those disrespectful and unhinged posts from the roster thread, unban me, and we'll carry on with our evenings as begrudgingly equals? that too much to ask?

I don't think he was. @will1066 has been pretty consistent that Laf needs to get the hell away from Panarin
he's also consistently been snarkier than lucille ball

The entire team fails the eye test more or less constantly which is basically what you're describing here.

Other teams don't let guys just walk down the slot on the regular. That's a very basic thing the Rangers inexplicably allow 4-5 times a game that other teams allow 0-1 times a game.

You're becoming a meme at this point

yet this team has had so much success over the past 3 years. historic winning regular season last year.

it's why this whole thing is so fascinating and hilarious. how can they be so bad and win so much?

Panarin is toast. Pun intended. He's not even regular season good at this point.
yeah it's wild watching him.

also, extension incoming

I don't think it's unfair. When you give up 5 goals, including terrible game tying goal in the third you did not play well enough. Expected goals for Montreal were 4.33. So not an atrocious result but still worse than average. The pity party for every goalie ever is getting tiring.

Because they had a few cheat codes for things (Fox is a wizard, Panarin makes shit happen by existing, Kreider became a net front God for 3 years, Mika had the 1 season with 20 PPGs, Shesterkin god mode) and those were high leverage high reward scenarios where the Rangers outperformed their analytics.

None of the cheat codes are working this year, and they're under .500. That lines up with the eye test. The numbers always win out.

yeah i mean that's a fair point, 5 is a big number.

but there were a number of 5bell saves, many defensive breakdowns, and that OT losing goal was not possible to save.
