Maybe any team not in the NHL, Hoffman would clear waivers right now, I am certain that Hugo would have traded him by now if he did not have to add a sweetner for a team to take him
True. While I do think HuGo will be able to acquire decent assets for certain players at TDL like Monahan, etc if they continue to play well, I think people may have to come to terms with the fact that Habs will most definitely have to "loss" multiple trades in order to shed cap. And by lose (for Winnipeg), I'm referring to similar trades as the one that brought Joel Armia to Montreal just as an example

how can anyone like the line up with Hoffman on the list, unless he is on any other team except the Habs.

The Habs beat the leafs first, than lost the next 2, hope that Arizona loses at least the next one, especially because they play the HABS.
Notice I have him as an extra.

He would clear waivers because of his contract, not because he's not good enough to make the top 12 of other nhl teams.

Monahan wouldve also cleared if Calgary had put him on waivers. I doubt anyone would claim Monahan wouldnt be able to make the top 12 of any team.

I'd like to see the following lines:

Monahan - Suzuki - Caufield
Dadonov - Dvorak - Gallagher
Slafkovsky - Dach - Anderson
Drouin - Evans - Pitlick

I think we get more offense from this lineup.

Our worst player so far is Hoffman. At some point you gotta sit him and let him learn by watching from the standing as Ducharme loved to say.
Pezzetta has to play some and i'd rather have his energy 11min a night on the 4th line than 2-3 giveaway and blackholes play from Offman.

I really doubt that, there wasn't much action on Hoffman even when he was UFA and Bargain bin decided to give him a dumb ass 3 year deal!!:banghead:
That is an area MB was very weak in. It never appeared that he had any idea what the market was for a player. Probably because he and the buddys he hired had no sources for information. It would be surprising if anyone was willing to offer more than a 1 year contract to Offman and likely at a lower annual amount than he got for multi years.
In defense of MB if it is true that when he was hired candidates were told that they weren't allowed to tank then he started off with a handicap. And we don't know if he was allowed to add the number of employess HuGo has added. Of course he, like all the candidates, should have told Molson to eff off if they were going to be handicapped to start with.

Apparently, St. Louis offered him a contract to go back, but it was only 2 years. He went to Montreal for the extra year. I'm sure the Blues are thrilled with how it turned out.

We’re 4 games in. The worst team is still us imo. Although I think our young dmen are better than many expected. We have a ton of deadwood. We will be fighting for the bottom. 4 games doesn’t change that.
