My favorite is Hutson is a future norris winner. Dude is like 5'9 and 140 pounds. 44 good games as a rookie and suddenly you're the next 2025 version of Bobby Orr/Lidstrom hybrid if you play for MTL.

Now they are penciling in Demidov as the next 100+pt kucherov while never suiting up for one single NHL game.... EVER!

And here I thought Toronto fans were nuts. LOL!

When I look at MTL's roster I see a team being built to get chewed up and spit out in the playoffs.
Green does not suit you...

Nah, maybe hyperbole or the ridiculous, over the top takes

Haha. I know, right!

Pot meet kettle.
Your Hutson comments show that you haven't watched much of him. He will threaten for Norris trophies. He is that good.
Demidov looking ready to fill that elite winger role next season
Demidov is looking like surefire #2 behind Celebrini

Basically "our kids will reach their ceiling and be elite, your kids will reach their floor and be meh! If you challenge me on this, then YOU are hyperbolic!"

How can you say that Montreal gets stomped in the postseason every year? What is the basis for that statement?

Y'all haven't even secured a WC slot and already beating the chest "we are betterest eva!!!!!!111" "NOW HEAR ME ROAR!"

We didn't win shit but neither has the Wings, and we're still above them

You can talk shit all you want, but this is reality

Wings started their rebuild before us and we're already ahead

Those who thinks that Detroit has either the better pieces or worse, the better team, need to go touch grass
It's a marathon, not a sprint. I certainly wouldn't make sweeping proclamations based on a 2 point standings difference at the halfway mark of the season.

Let's also not pretend that Montreal really "started" their rebuild any later than Detroit. They drafted higher than Detroit in 2018, traded for Suzuki that same year, and also missed the playoffs and drafted Caufield in 2019.
I mean Laine, Caufield and Suzuki are on par with Raymond.
That is fairly delusional tbh. Suzuki and Caufield are at least worth discussing (although both are older and Raymond's trending signficantly better than both), but including Laine is borderline offensive.

Oh really?

Yes, really? He’s pacing for 91 pts at a much younger age than both of the MTL guys; at his age they were putting up 50-60 pts. You must be confused.
I dont know, saying that he is trending "significantly better" to me means a lot more than a 4 points difference after 46 games. Unless you think he will end up being a 100pts player, which is really doubtful.

Im not confused, you're just being biased.

Trending significantly better. Key word- Trending. He’s on pace for 90 points at an age Suzuki and Caufield scored 50-60. That’s a 30 point difference.

Our rebuild started in 2021.

It is relevant to the discussion since the topic of this thread is who do you take moving forward. Don’t know why there is a need to single out Raymond had a whole 4 points more than Suzuki for this debate, since the question is clearly about the group has a whole.
Its relevant but not the whole story because it doesn't include Seider, Edvinsson, ASP. The discussion was about Seider and Raymond being the best that either team has though, which is still true

MTL drafted:
2016: 9th overall
2017: 25th overall
2018: 3rd overall
2019: 15th overall
2020: 16th overall (misses playoffs in normal year, would have drafted 8th overall)
2021: 31st overall (misses playoffs in normal year, would have drafted 14th overall)
2022: 1st overall / 26th overall
2023: 5th overall
2024: 5th overall / 21st overall

MTL has finished amongst the top 16 teams in the regular season standings exactly 1 time since 2016. If you weren't rebuilding, you were failing anyway and managing to get more valuable draft slotting that Detroit.

They were a flawed team trying to go for it year after year. Guhle, CC and Suzuki really helped kickstart the 2021 rebuild, thank god purple pants is gone.
