This take is so homer that I don’t even know where to start. Is anyone on the wings going to be better than Hutson and Demidov?
I love Seider but the team doesn’t have the same talent in the pipeline
I mean Laine, Caufield and Suzuki are on par with Raymond.
He’s not hit 90 points in his career, and this year is the first time he’ll come close. Good for him if he does but using your logic we currently have a guy hitting 85 points and a 44 goal/80 point scorer that are the same age as Raymond. Let’s not pretend there is a huge gap especially comparing their seasons prior. This take is so homer that I don’t even know where to start.
If the Habs had 3 play driving 90pt 2way forwards on the team, they’d be 1st in the Atlantic, not neck and neck with Detroit.
Lol this guy says do we anyone on the level of Hutson and demidov, a guy who has played half a season and another guy who isn’t even in the NHL. Where as the red wings have two players currently better than both right now, in the NHL, proven, producing like elite talents. This is what I mean when I say habs fans are delusional. This take is so homer that I don’t even know where to start.

I’d argue the wings have plenty enough pieces, it’s whether we have another high end forward/center in our pool. We have 2 future 1d caliber defenseman so we are set there.Habs for me. Wings don't have enough pieces for my liking. Habs have better building blocks IMO. I also hear that Hutson is the greatest dman in the entire universe so there is that too lol.
It's close though. Both should have good futures soon.
We already have those pieces too but our best players are a rookie and a guy in the KHL. I just don’t see those talents in your pipeline. Your post just ignored the point I was making.Lol this guy says do we anyone on the level of Hutson and demidov, a guy who has played half a season and another guy who isn’t even in the NHL. I would take seider and edvinsson over Hutson every single day of the week. Without a single thought. As for demidov, he is certainly an elite prospect and looking to be an elite talent, but until he actually plays in the NHL, then Raymond has the edge.We already have those pieces too but our best players are a rookie and a guy in the KHL. Yeah Seider is a good player, did I say otherwise?I would take seider and edvinsson over Hutson every single day of the week. Without a single thought. I would stop putting laine in your teams long term plans. He has flamed out every single stop he’s been at before, and struggled with mental health recently. It’s much more likely than not his career continues to be a set of ups and downs. Caufield/debrincat, Larkin/suzuki are pretty close comparisons to each other, with Larkin being better than Suzuki and caufield being better than debrincat. I think these guys are all good pieces, but not elite talents. Raymond is an elite talent, and I think demidov can and will be, but we just don’t know because he hasn’t played in the NHL.Yeah Seider is a good player, did I say otherwise?
My point is that I don’t think Raymond has the edge over Laine, Caufield or Suzuki you guys are saying he does, I never said Demidov or Hutson were better than Seider or Raymond. Just re-read my post and do better.
If your argument is to remove Laine from the lineup that’s fine, but it’s just not convincing to me that Larkin and Raymond are leagues better than Suzuki and Caufield.I would stop putting laine in your teams long term plans. Edvinsson will likely be better than Seider once he has more than a few partial seasons under his belt.If your argument is to remove Laine from the lineup that’s fine, but it’s just not convincing to me that Larkin and Raymond are leagues better than Suzuki and Caufield.
Raymond has a few more points than Suzuki this year and he’s not the goal scorer Caufield is. I don’t understand where your definition of elite talent comes in if the players are all comparable. What has Larkin done to indicate he’s better than Suzuki other than be older?
You then need to hope talent in the pipeline will be as good as Slafkovsky and Demidov, which might happen.
Dach remains to be seen, he may or may not be a good second line centre, Hage appears to be promising. Who will be the guy to centre after Larkin for the wings?
Seider is probably the best dman on both teams, but the question then is Edvinsson better than everyone else? I don’t think that’s a given, seeing as Reinbacher, Guhle, Hutson are great young dmen.

Recency bias, any clownshow can get hot for 10 games. The core the Habs don't have yet has a better record than the Wings while being younger
Funny you talk about recency bias when Detroit has looked terrible for most of the season. Neither team/core has proven shit in the long runRecency bias, any clownshow can get hot for 10 games.
As good as Seider is, I think Edvisson will be even a better player when all said and done. Edvinsson has swagger and mojo you just see in big guys. Seider will plow you and keep every opposing player on the ice worried and looking over their shoulder.
I don't see MTL as a future playoff threat. They come off as a good regular season fun to watch team then proceed to get stomped in the post-season every year.
It's weird for anyone to compare laine to raymond. One is a 2-way elite line driver, the other is a one dimensional scoring weapon. I'll take Debrincat over Laine, and those two are slightly more comparable as Wings don't have a true one way sniper/trigger man.
Wings have two of the best goalies in the world not playing in the NHL.
And every time MTL fans bring up Demidov I think to myself "wait, doesn't Detroit have their own Russian tearing up the KHL?" Yup, completely underrated Dmitri Buchelnikov outscoring Demidov while only being a couple years older. Each development curve is different, but Detroit Red Wings have theirs version looking pretty damn lethal right now. One drafted 5th; one was drafted 52nd. Both looking good in the KHL. Neither played a game in the NHL, so toss up.
I can't blame you calling habs fans nuts/homers 2 pages earlier but then comparing Buchlnikov to Demidov with a straight face is just hilariousAs good as Seider is, I think Edvisson will be even a better player when all said and done. What does this even mean? Demidov hasn’t even entered the NHL yet.If your argument is to remove Laine from the lineup that’s fine, but it’s just not convincing to me that Larkin and Raymond are leagues better than Suzuki and Caufield.

It's the epitome of public opinion...That said I voted 'too close to call' simply because both have been playing better than expected and young guys on both clubs are stepping it up.Habs are better set up for the future which is what this thread is about. The poll reflects that.
I can't blame you calling habs fans nuts/homers 2 pages earlier but then comparing Buchlnikov to Demidov with a straight face is just hilarious
It's like pot meet kettle
Sure bud, you do youNo, I just think it's only fair to have in this conversation. If you say "well my guy will be the next 100pt kucherov and my 5'10 dman will win norris trophies" after 44 games, then I think it is only fair we can say the other guys will reach their peak potential, too?
If you are saying your kids are all reaching their peak, then can't Detroit say all their guys are also reaching their peak? ASP is the next Lane Hutson, amirite? Buchelnikov +/- Demidov. Michael Brandsegg-Nygård the next Mark Stone. Kasper the next 70 point Ryan Kesler. Cossa the next Vasilevskiy.
Unless your guys are the only players who get to reach their peak in this hypothetical "who is better" thread. Detroit Red Wings have more guys "to reach their peak" in this scenario. But that doesn't fit the narrative. Only DemiGOD gets to score at levels no russian since Kucherov scores at!!!!!
Me thinks if Buchelnikov was in YOUR prospect pool, then he... and only he would be the next Kucherov.

If you are saying your kids are all reaching their peak, then can't Detroit say all their guys are also reaching their peak? ASP is the next Lane Hutson and have equal amount of future Norris trophies in his dusty closet, amirite? Buchelnikov +/- Demidov. Michael Brandsegg-Nygård the next Mark Stone. Kasper the next 70 point Ryan Kesler. Cossa the next Vasilevskiy.

Then lets compare Suzuki and Caufield to Larkin and Raymond. They have almost identical production this year. Its a wash imo. But Suzuki and Caufield are closer in age so its better when it comes to having a cup window.I mean I can't blame a "Center over the winger" argument, but if we're doing that, Larkin and Suzuki are essentially the same player. Larkin ever so slightly better offensively over the last few years, but Suzuki obviously younger.
Sure bud, you do you

Nah, maybe hyperbole or the ridiculous, over the top takesWhat's wrong? Did my last post sound ridiculous to you?
