Laugh as you want, at the end of the year Habs fans will be laughing when Ottawa miss the playoff for the 8 straight year.

Haven't you read the thread? The standings are only relevant at the points Ottawa fans choose them to be. Like 2 weeks ago when they allegedly had an insurmountable lead over Montreal. The fact that it must not have been much of a lead if Montreal overcame it in 2 weeks is irrelevant.

the big factor in this for me is how good stutzle really is/will be.

For now he gets the edge over Suzuki in a long term outlook because he’s 3 years younger. But we went from comparing him to matthews to Suzuki. This doesn’t scream a player that’s up trending to me. He might just end up being what he is right now which is fine but without him taking another step I don’t really like the sens here.

Yeah but don't say that to Golden Jets, he might start laughing at you lol.

It's gonna be funny later this year when they forfeit their 1st pick 😀

We don’t know which year they forfeit a first round pick, so looks like the jokes on you again, until today.

but not shocking with the homer hyperbole you’ve been mentioning. I haven’t seen this much hyperbole in 2025 yet, it’s hyperbole EveryDay. 😉

You believe they are going to keep number 14 or 15? Even better then, it's the McKenna draft next year 😀

If Ottawa thought they were getting worse they probably wouldn't keep trading 1sts with the intention of getting better.

So yes, if they're not a playoff team this year they'll 100% kick that pick forfeiture to next season under the belief that they'll be a better team.

Ahh someone with common sense

Ouch I've heard this before that Ottawa is going to be better next year, its familiar to the Buffalo board haha.

Sens fan saying Habs easily.

People don't understand how terrible a GM Pierre Dorion was.

He is legitimately one of the worst general managers this league has ever seen, and the Sens will be paying the price for his incompetence for a long time.

Given how badly he screwed up the rebuild I don't know if the Sens will ever graduate to contending status. May just end up stagnating as a solid playoff team for many years but not taking that next jump to the elite tier.

I hate to praise the Habs at all because their fanbase is the worst in the league by far and go way overboard hyping their players/team up, but Hughes and Gorton are incredible at their jobs and the Habs are looking like a future contender because of the work they have done.

The point is that two weeks ago if this thread was made you would've been laughed out of the building. So yeh, this thread DOES scream recency bias.

Why would habs fans care about Ottawa? Shouldn't they focus on their own team? What a strange take lol I couldn't give two shits if Montreal finished with 60 points or 120 points.

I agree about dorion but that's only an excuse for a few seasons. New ownership and management has their own fingerprint on the team 5 years later for example.

Saying for ever is dramatic.

Not at all, 2 weeks ago MTL still had a top3 prospect pool in the league and ranked 1st for player under 24 yo on tsn.com.

You believe they should be getting everyone listed perfectly?

Who's to knows what Cowan might become? He's been among the best prospect in the world last 2 years.

Most recently I recall Cowan being shit on by the entire nation of Canada for his play in the WJCs.

Granted, at least he made it to the tournament. Edvinsson was just floundering in the NHL as a top 4D.

He was shit but so was all team Canada junior..... it's not because you're in the nhl right now that you're a better player in the future unless you believe that Edvinsson has 100% a better future then Demidov, Buium, Nemec, etc ?

It's weird that you think that was the point being made. Edvinsson is already a top pairing caliber DMan in the NHL. Nobody in their right mind thinks Cowan becomes anything better than what Edvinsson already is.

And this is just one example of the shit show that was that list.
