Galchenyuk has gone downhill ever since he fired Igor Larionov.

Galchenyuk had the best stretch of his entire career after firing Larionov. I don't really think that's really an issue.

Unless you are talking about off ice stuff, which I don't know enough to comment on.

Galchenyuk has gone downhill ever since he fired Igor Larionov.

For reference to your statement, Galchenyuk fired Larionov in June 2015.

Galchenyuk has his best season after that with 30g26a56pts. Then he followed that up with a great start to last season until he got injured. Hasn't been the same since but this season hasn't even started....

I think Gardiner is actually extremely good, better than Rielly.

He was a beast playing close to 30 minutes a night in the playoffs against WAS.

Sucks. Was looking forward to watching lindgren. I don't really care for montoya in the preseason, and I'm not all that high on fucale.

As someone who watches tonnes of leafs games.... Gardiner is trash. Pretty much the same player as Beau. Looks great one second then he makes the most boneheaded play you can imagine. Zaitsev I'll admit is very good though.

So much wrong with this post it's crazy. Gardiner controls games. He makes the occasional dumb play but the positives far outweigh the negatives. There's a reason why Babcock says hes the best defenseman on the team with AND without the puck. Zaitsev is closer to trash than Gardiner.

that is what wins in todays style NHL, offense, speed, skill....we have none of it, and the leafs have all of it,

we are 10-20 years behind the times with our defensive strategy and game plan, it aint gonna work,

the last defensive based team to win a cup was the devils....and that was almost 20 years ago

The kings won ther first cup based on d literally 5 seasons ago.

Nah Gardiner sucks man. He had a good season statistically but don't worry, he'll get back to his usual self.

Riley is the best defenceman on the ice after Weber, no question. I prefer Petry over Gardiner, when he's playing physical, he's very very good.

There are three new defense from Toronto to watch: Rosen, Dermott, and Borgman. Rosen and Borgman from the SHL are new and still adjusting to the NHL and smaller ice surface, but all three of these could be pretty good.

We will only get to see Rosen tonight. He is a fast skater, faster than Rielly.

Meanwhile, we have Mete who is starting tonight. His speed is going to something needed for our defense.
