No one cares
I was a big fan of Drouin and was sad to see him go. He was underappreciated here and could never live up to the expectations. Do I even need to add the emoji? He was not a favorite of Avs fans on their board earlier this season but is now on Macks line and is still pacing toward 45-50 points. I look forward to the tribute.

If he averages 50 pts a season in his time on Mucks line that is a a failure. Anyone playing on his line should be at least putting up 70 pts.

Each to his own. I doubt Drouin will improve a lot or that the team will evolve in a way that it would benefit from getting him back, but should it happen I wouldn't be upset. Drouin wasn't effective here but I don't resent him for it. There are a lot of players who don't work out, there aren't that many who fail because of lack of effort. Drouin had issues but I doubt he didn't try. He put up decent numbers when the team was doing well, and his scoring with Colorado isn't much different from what he did here, and he has a way better team now.

I resent he was a huge floater and never got his nose dirty. Trading Sergachev for him only added insult. I know the trade wasn't his fault but it's hard to separate that reality.

I wonder which of the goalies Avs will go with, it's one of the team that should be looking for a better one with their better one injured.

Amusingly, Allen will start tonight. Hopefully, his mental at the beginning of the game is there and he's not shaky in the first 5 minutes like the last game he started..

I'm actually hoping for an Habs win tonight.

edit: Pearson skated with his teammates this morning (he's been skating in solo for a while now), which means he's on track for a return soon.

'Amusingly' Habs will lose badly. No reasons to put Allen in goals again.

That was a brutal hit and was unnecessary. Credit to Drouin for getting to his feet and skating to the bench, that must have felt like getting hit by a truck.

Concussed + broken wrist. Next season he had like 2 goals in 40gp.

Good times. :sarcasm:

So Allen starts, and I have to assume Kovacevic is out & Barron is in. Kovy really doesn't play well against high speed teams.

Also, Valeri Nikushkin isn't playing. He joined the NHLPA assistance program today. It's really just MacKinnon & Rantanen upfront now. It should still be enough. We'll see what goaltender they start.

Allen starts otherwise same lineup as Sat vs Edm

That was a brutal hit and was unnecessary. If we had Xhekaj on the roster at that time he would have gone after Ovechkin. Credit to Drouin for getting to his feet and skating to the bench, that must have felt like getting hit by a truck.
Clearly remember it and lost total respect for Ovi after that completely unnecessary dirty hit.
