Any teams interested the prices are:

Looking for a 2nd for Evans.
A 2nd for Dvorak
A late first for Savard 50% retained.
A 2nd for Armia.
All above have expiring contracts.

Matheson want a first and a throw-in. He's signed for another season after this at 4.9million.

Can't see anyone offering a 1st for Dvorak nor Armia. A 4th would be a good haul.

Starting with Evans, I suspect he will not be available in trade unless the team is unable to re-sign him. I suspect, in the new year, the Canadiens will discuss an extension with him.

I think Dvorak could go for a 2nd rounder, which will shock a lot of people (including Canadiens fans who needlessly hate on him) but it really depends on the market for centres around the deadline.

There's no world where Savard is worth a first. His play has dropped off noticeably this year. While his penalty killing will be valued and I think he could be a good third pair veteran on a playoff team, he is just simply not worth anywhere close to a 1st rounder. Retention doesn't move the needle. His play has fallen off dramatically.

Armia is not only not worth a 2nd round pick, he's not worth a 3rd round pick either. He's terrible and I don't think he really helps a playoff team. I don't think there would be much of a market for Joel Armia.

Didn’t I say exactly this at the start of the year ? And you among others defended him as some sort of defensive stalwart / gonna be extended / get a huge haul . Quite the about face . Savard has been cooked or close to it for several years . Appreciate the revelation on your part though ..

I don't agree that he has been cooked for several years, I said, quite clearly, I think he's had a sharp decline *this year.*

You make it sound like we have a long list of players we let go to UFA and didn't trade them at the previous TDL?

In recent memory there are just a few I can think of but over the past 10-15. They have let some huge players walk away. Guys that could have made the past 10 years far less painful....

and if he wants too much money and/or wants to test the market then yes, a late 2nd is good asset for Evans. that pick can be paired with something else down the line to get something they need.

I think Hughes can get more for a project like Barron who is young and a coveted right D than a 3rd. Of course, I may be wrong. Habs already to need move on from guys like Dvorak, Armia, Savard - they don't need any more journeyman vets.
If you proposed a young forward for Barron with habs adding the higher pick, I'm all ears.

I think it costs the Bruins Pavel Zacha and one of their top prospects. Thought about Carlo but it sounds like someone closer to Frederic over Zacha may be the need for Montreal. I don’t think there’s a deal to be made. Habs don’t need Zacha at the expense of Laine’s size and scoring. With caufield and Hutson, he’s transformed Habs PP.
Zacha is a good 3C, but it’s a literal move imo.
I also don’t think B’s have the quality prospects - or would want to use them in such a trade.
Frederic’s a UFA to be and Carlo while interesting, is not the answer at the expense of Laine (assuming he can stay healthy)

Thx Bern but pass. Habs are trying to get bigger. Team is already too small on the wing with caufield, Gallagher and newhook. There’s also Harvey-Pinard and kids like Farrell and kidney, so it’s not happening.
Othman on the other hand lol…

I agree with the first 3 , maybe Armia can be worth a 3rd or 4th but certainly not a 2nd. He's big, some GMs just love that.

Savard and Armia will possibly land somewhere for cheap because dinosaur GMs love big, slow players that get away with their bad penalties in the playoffs, but I don't see anyone offering anything for the rest of our garbage.
