A good reminder of how far this team still has to go. As of now 7 out of 8 wins have come against teams not in a playoff spot (the 1st game against Toronto was the only time they beat a, current, playoff team). They are 1-3-1 against teams currently in the playoffs.

The next 6 games they play teams on the outside looking in. They’ve really had an easy schedule to start the season, that’ll switch later in the season. In March they have a 10 game stretch where they play Vegas, Car, NYR, NJD, Col, Pit, Fla, TB, TB, Bos.

Woof, throw that whole game in the garbage. Giveaway central.

The only decent players tonight were Anderson, Dadonov, and Slafkovsky (and Allen for a time). The rest can go back to the drawing board.

Two of the best teams we've played this year have been New Jersey and Detroit. Is this 1997 again?

Trade deadline is March 3. That can be an ugly month 😳

Devils sure play a different style once they get the lead.

If this is one of those "tRaP" bullshit comments then it should be known that we have the best xGF/60 in the league when leading. We create more than anyone else when winning. We don't go into a shell. We just take over games completely when winning even more than we usually do. We have a 60% xGF when tied, 62% when trailing, and 67% when leading.

When you have only played 15 games, it's harder to gauge the schedule difficulty by who is in and who is out because the teams around the league are still a work in progress.

There's a good chunk of teams out there who have a better record than "expected" at this point as most teams are trying to get their machine running. Just one win or one loss can make multiple teams a playoff one or non playoff one at this stage of the season.

Hughes had 3 points and was dynamic. That's what you get when you draft a premier C 1st OV
Suzuki is a s good as him. He has more points on a team with only one line. Once HuGo adds another top centre and Beck is NHL ready Habs will be in business. And I suspect Suzuki would be more effective in the playoffs than Hughes and Hischier.
