Monahan says everything is ok and can play hockey… I don‘t see anybody offering him a contract above 2m given the risks even trusting medical records.
I wouldn't mind us throwing him another 1 year contract at all. Best case we flip him for a 1st at the deadline, worst case we lose a bit of cap space in a season we're not gonna be competing anyways.

Please explain how anderson has progressed, same number of points in same number of games as last year, not really better defensively, not contributing more to his line.

Ever since he was with Harvey Pinard he was great. He needs to play with a certain type of player. I'll look up the points...but it was more eye test. He was more involved, used his linemates well, much better defensively, used on the pk. We'll see if he can keep it up over a longer sample size.

And this is coming from someone who wanted him gone.

It's really unfortunate we lost Monahan in December. Until his injury I thought he was a good fit with the team.

I would be open in bringing him back. He's legit perhaps the only player who's intangibles and veteran leadership I valued this past season.

He brought some of that NHL star power that we desperately miss.

Fire our medical staff into the sun!

They cost us a 1st round pick :banghead:

Monahan did specify that it was his decision to keep playing. He really wanted to play the game against Calgary. For what it's worth.

I remember Lapierre mentioning during one of the pre-game shows on TVA Sports that oftentimes, players and even their agents get involved and it complicates how certain medical staffs handle some cases.

That isn't to say that they really need to dig into the reason they have so many injuries. Whether it's with the medical staff or the training staff.

Why are these buffoons playing while injured on what they know will amount to a nothing season? Monahan with all of his previous troubles, and Gallagher with his long-term contract. Just heal up.
Especially since it's like the 2 most injury prone guys on the team and they both have term left on their contracts. It's f***ing absurd they were given the green light to play from our medical staff. They truly need to clear house.

RHP was called up January 17th. Anderson played 28 games he had 10g 8a.

Anderson played a total of 69 games. So, for the other 41 games he had 11g 3a

With RHP, Anderson is on pace for 52 points and 30 goals.

It's gross negligence by the coaching and medical staff.

Like Gallagher and Monahan's agents can cry all the f*** they want - neither of those guys matter.
What kind of agent tells his client to play through a broken ankle or in the case of Monahan, a broken foot, when he's a pending UFA with a history of injuries?

He needs a new agent

ok, so those numbers I promised you...

In the last 27 games of his season, i.e. since January 17th, the game Rafael Harvey Pinard got called up, Anderson had 10 goals and 18 points. That's a 30 goals, 54 points pace in 81 games.

Can Anderson keep that pace over 82 games playing with RHP on a 3rd line with a good offensive C like Monahan or Dach? I'd like to find out. I could see him getting 25 goals and 45 - 50 pionts. That's good enough production, given he brings a much needed size and speed combo to our lineup. I like RHP, Farrell, CC, and Mesar, and hopefully Michkov or Benson. But can't have all small guys.

I just did the analysis also, but counted 27 games, with 10g and 8a. Similar pace, 30 goals, 54 points in 81 games (just multiply everything by 3).
