I figure the Habs could get slapped if they aren't dressing "their best available lineup".

I know there's some rule governing something related to some aspect of dressing some type of players. But beyond that I'm a bit vague.

Galchenyuk continuing to be used as a third line left winger.

Are we really going into the playoffs with Danault and Pleks as the top 2 centers?

Apparently so...

Pleks tends to disappear in the playoffs and Danault as talented as he is, is not a no. 1C.

I don't know, why not continue playing Galchenyuk at C, even on a third line, during these remaining regular season games, which are meaningless?

Not sure why we would change now when it's working quite well. Maybe if something changes when we actually get to the playoffs, then we'll see a move, but until then, everybody if doing well in their current role...except for Chucky. Time for him to step up and force a change if need be.

The playoffs are a different animal -- just like Bergevin's line about players that perform in the regular season vs. those who get you through the playoffs. Plekanec is not a playoff performer.

I just figured why not keep Galchenyuk ready at C by at least giving him low pressure 3rd line minutes at C and then more easily call on him when Pleks inevitably disappears again. Galchenyuk at C on a third line doesn't at all impact on the first two lines in their current role.

My theory is that Plekanec has been pacing himself all season so he can become a playoff beast. He'll be second on the team in points and first in shots.

That's a very unusual theory.

Because Chucky is a defensive liability in the middle. You can hide his deficiencies on the wing. Just my take on it.

Five years of Bergevin and he and his Confederacy of sycophantic minions weren't able to figure that out earlier. Sheesh. :shakehead

Galchenyuk has also been a liability on the wings by winning few puck battles.

At this point, I am more preoccupied by Shaw regressing while playing C. Before being moved there, Shaw was one of the most dangerous forwards. We'll need his efficiency on the forecheck come playoffs time.

Galchenyuk should be good enough to handle 3rd line C with responsible forwards like Lehkonen and Shaw. Otherwise, we are in deep trouble...

I hear you on Chucky, but it's up to him to make a difference now. Shaw has been great since Julien came aboard.

Okay, I might have exaggerated his points total. But that's only because he'll miss so much time with fighting majors.

Seriously, poor Plekanec... he's been a loyal, productive Hab for life, but is in danger of being remembered for disappearing when the heat's on. I'd love to see him have a great playoffs and shut us up.

Shaw has been great indeed, just not so much recently at C. I'd like him to focus to be a pain to play against on the wings rather than C duties, but whatever it needs.

Some of us are guilty of pampering players too much by blaming the management for all their struggles. Galchenyuk had his chances and now he needs to produce. The Rangers are a deep team and we'll need him to figure it out. If only he could show some hustle on the boards, that'd be something.

Shaw is better on the Wing than Center, I agree. His work on the wall is unbelievable. He's so greasy and his control of the puck is freakish..

Shaw didn't play center for a while, he'll definitely need some time to get going as a center.
