I don't think it's anything serious with Shea Weber. I think tonight's a good time to rest him for a game. This is just part of Claude's rotation most likely. They should rest Markov too while they're at it.

Yeah if this game had any real significance then Weber I think would be playing. Weber is s good guy to sit out a game or two because the style of game he plays has physical toll that comes with it and we need him ready for the playoffs.

I also don't think they can rest Weber and Markov at the same time since Benn is still injured. They don't just have enough defensemen to do it.

Yup "meet the doctors". Probably so they can prescribe him some Valium. Pop a few of those the next few days and love life on his couch. He deserves the break.

Tony Marinaro is trying his best to make a big deal out of this Weber news and then he goes "not to freak people out..."

I figure we'll see some players avoid contacts because of small stuff in the remaining games. That's the way to go. Interested to see who steps up with Markov. Emelin? He's been pretty good lately.

The officiating in the league is downright embarrassing. The league has turned into an all out slashfest with little being done about it. You use a 2 handed slash to deter others from hitting you.The fighters have been eliminated and now slashing and headshots are common.lets bring back the rock em sock hockey.

Weber is out I believe. I'd sit him even if he weren't hurt. A guy you need to be at 100% for the playoffs.

I d give him the full 10 days. Price maybe 1 more game max. Markov too
He played a lot of hockey since September and definitely deserves it.
I think the playoff starts on the 12, so 10 days off will definitely help

Did anyone notice Weber being hurt? If sitting him out is just an excuse to let him rest a sore muscle, is there a contractual advantage to claiming it's because of injury?

Hopefully Basu's correct here. I think he's probably right. I've seen nothing to indicate an injury there so let's hope for the best.

Makes sense. My natural paranoia is having trouble digesting the possibility of going into the playoffs with a healthy and rested roster.

Price will be starting 2. Again, keeping goalies in game shape is just as important as giving them rest. Starting him in 1 of 4 games is overkill. Same goes for the rest. A couple of games off with reduced minutes in others depending on in game situations is how you handle it.

I figure the Habs could get slapped if they aren't dressing "their best available lineup".

I believe he looked in pain after blocking a shot at one point.
