We had a good run but playing against Carolina showed we need to make changes,, Getting out shot every game and not getting any shots in OT is not okay.

Players I don't want to see on this team moving forward:

Bolduc
Gallagher
Carrier
Dach
Struble
Veleno
Laine
Reinbacher (bust at this point but maybe we can do a prospect swap)
Montembault

Make your offers!!

Players I want to add (not neccesarily only for the players listed above:

McTavish
Thomas
Hayton
Tuch (I think we will get him because we have his brother already in the organization)

Is the dach tire pumping finally over

I don’t see the habs as good suitors for mctavish, just not really the right available pieces to spark Anaheims interest… unless we got some weird 3 way deal going

Zharovsky
Engstrom
1st
2 2nds
Gallagher (cap)

For
Hronek

Sign McMann or Marchment.

D is upgraded
Hope young guys take another step next year
Run a more balanced team and keep toi lower for top players throughout the meaningless season as everything is about winning the cup now
See how things play out with Hage+Reinbacher and let Fowler+Dobes battle I guess (although maybe Dobes should already be the guy?)

I think you should be limited to one terrible habs trade proposal per day.

Montreal should look at either Hertl or Karlsson from Vegas to fill their 2C for the year until Hage is ready in which case one or the other plays 3rd line minutes.

That would require them to waive their NTC. Hertl has a 3 team trade list, odds are he's not going anywhere without his say so. And Karlsson has a 10 team no trade list, which probably includes all of the Canadian teams

Laine is UFA, so he will walk. Veleno is RFA but Mtl doesn't have to qualify him. Takes care of those 2.

Gallagher, would be a cap dump so if trading him, would need to give up something.

Dach, at his QO probably not going to garner interest. He's played under 2 full seasons of games over his 4 years with Mtl.

Struble, 3rd pairing Dman. Not sure teams would view him higher than that.

Carrier/Bolduc tradeable.

Kind of harsh aren't you? Bolduc and Reinbacher are pretty young.

I wonder which teams will rebuild, which will retool, this is really what will set the market.

Right now I d say except VAN and CGY the seller List is pretty short. NSH LAK WSH NYR SEA STL NYI PHI join the list to some extent but I think all these Teams will rather try to improve and sell only if they have a poor start next season. Then there are other teams willing to go for lateral Moves (EDM TOR NJD…)

Because the UFA market is quite thin and so many teams want to contend I could see a very dynamic offseason trade wise with a lot of veteran shuffling.

I still think it’s a bit premature to make a huge move emptying the cupboards of their better prospects and 1st round picks. People forget that they weren’t slotted to make the playoffs two seasons. They’ve got time. They’re a year ahead of schedule. Probably a year or two away from those types of trades being the right option.

Montreal tries to acquire #2 center.

I’m sure GMs will be lining up for that treasure trove

In addition to Reinbacher you will need to make Kapanen, Hage, Zharovsky, Pickford, Volohkin, Engstrom, several 1sts available to move the needle for what we need
