I vote for TSN690/RDS coaching expert Norman Flynn for coach. :sarcasm: He has all the answers during his 3 weekly TSN690 morning segments. :)

You got me with that.

Flynn’s first order of business would be to have his GM trade Suzuki for Simmonds. :help:

Not just the terrible goals allowed but Price allowed 2 goals on three attempts in the shootout and 2 goals on four attempts against Vancouver earlier in the season. That’s unacceptable. You’re not even giving your team a chance to win.

Yeah. Those are just haters. I never mention price's salary because he was put in a position to earn that. Back then, he made a mediocre team good because he was one of the best. I don't expect him to be a top 3 goalie anymore but somewhere in the top 10 but he can't even position himself there.

I know Allen can't handle 1st goalie duty, I only brought his name to answer those who use the excuse that Price sucked this season because of his defense but it still the same defense in front of Allen.

And if we simply analyze the goals, the softies, that Price let's in, it has nothing to do with bad defense. Its all on him. The 2 goals that went through his 5 hole tonight was no excuse. It was a must win game in a certain way, he made some good saves but the softies is a proof that he lacks focus. It's been quite some time that he's playing like this.

I expect Price to give us a chance to win every night, that's it. Whether that's a top 3, 5, 10, 20...changes nothing to me. Does he keep us in the games when we're being tramped on? Yes? Then he's doing his job.
You can expect some blunders as well, nobody is perfect, but they should be very limited. This is where the problem lies now with Price, he's letting in too many weak goals, which is weird because he routinely makes insane saves.

I disagree about the defense though. It's all part of the game. The Sens were moving the part from one side to the other all game for example, they did a very good job destroying our defensive box all night. When you do that, then things like that 4th goal can happen where it seems like Price anticipated a pass to be made across and when he realized Tkachuk was just poking it, he lost his footing.

Goaltending is not an easy position to analyse. People see a shot going in, they bitch about it...depending on the velocity they see from their living room, they decide whether or not it was an okay one to let in. Even if it's a perfect shot, some will still dump on the goalie.

I'm not making excuses for Price, he needs to be better. I think he's definitely improved since the start, he's making some really crazy saves that he wasn't doing earlier on, now he just needs to fix those blunders.

Why not? I have to watch this guy take up over 10% of the cap and he gets $84 million for giving a good performance every now and then. He can put up with my emotion.
Hate to break it to you, but Price doesn't come on HFboard and wonder what le_sean posted after the game.

We are just discussing things.

Danault out there in a 3 vs. 3 is continuing evidence of playing not to lose.

Danault had 2 assists tonight and also on the ice when we should have gotten that game winner. He had a strong 3rd period, made sense to use him there.

3 on 3 is pond hockey..there's no strategy...you have Petry doing laps around the ice. It's lame and should be removed from the game.

It’s time to get rid of the french only coaches rule to expand our options. If the best candidate can speak french then great but it should never be the number one requirement. It’s absolutely ridiculous that we limit ourselves in that way.

Issue is with the 2 week Quarantine you can't currently hire anyone who might be living outside of Canada. We'd have to go 2 weeks without a coach.

Best option for now is Ducharme as interim.

danault has played well the last couple games since that gaff on Matthews in the first period. Still can’t score a goal to save his life though.

still better options 3 on 3 when it really is shinny hockey

The last time i've read the rule there was no mention of time between the contact and the goal. Gallagher had no business going there and he knows it. The ref probably decided the contact was intentional and in such case the goal is almost always refused. Personally i think it was a stupid play by Gallagher. There was no space for him between the goalie and the dman. He had lost the position battle as simple as that and went where a player can't go.
Time between contact and goal is key. If the goalie has time to reset, it’s a good goal.

Gallagher after the game:

"This play, I get knocked on my ass, I have time to reset, you can't tell me the goalie doesn't have time to reset."

We all saw & said the same thing.

Also Gallagher:

Gallagher said the NHL sends a video re goaltender interference every season and that he saw a sample where Freddy Andersen was bumped but had time to reset and the goal was allowed. He said the refs get the same video, he's very frustrated with the consistency.

I'm really starting to hate the NHL. What a trash league.

I think the team will be fine. Still think they're made for the playoffs. Get the bad losses out of the way now.

Although they still gotta find a way to replace Danault. We could do better.

You shouldn’t be in the situation against Ottawa where you need a last second goal to win. Yes. Wrong call. BS refereeing but the team didn’t even deserve a point.

Gallagher should be pissed that his team allowed 40 shots against last team in the league. That his goalie can’t stop a beach ball, that they can’t complete 2 passes on the same play, that the head doesn’t know where the ass is.

don’t disagree with Gallagher about the goal called back but this is not why the team lost.

Of course they’ll be fine. They are guaranteed to make their millions no matter how much they suck.

If the goal counts game is over & we win, so ultimately it is why we lost. But, yes, we never should have gotten to that point.

Price is playing as bad as he was just before Therrien was fired. I still remember MT yelling at him, "make a f***ing save."
