Is he able to shoot anymore? The only shot I saw from him was a muffin.
Sadly, he can't shoot anymore. Same for Gally and Hoffman.
Gally works his butt off though so he will get some occasional garbage goals.

The other 2 are useless and at this point you gain nothing by playing them. Their values won't improve. Just waive them and call up RHP, Ylonen or Richard.

- Dach is on a 4-game point streak (he has 7 pts in those 4 games). He's now on pace for a 68-point season.

- Caufield has points in 5 of his last 6 games (has 8 pts in those 6 games). He's now on pace for 55 goals and 96 pts.

- Suzuki is also on a 4-game point streak (has 8 pts in those 4 games). He's now on pace also for 55 goals, but on 103 pts.

- Slaf is on pace for 26 goals.

- Guhle is on pace for 34 pts.

Suzuki is the oldest one among this group, and he's 23 years old.

We all would like to see those pace projections materialize and it sure is fun to speculate.

Just wondering at what point pace projections start becoming probabilities. Different coaching environment now but by way of example, we all recall the pace Caufield was on in his first 12 games last season.

Eddy was brutal, but that's what happens when you miss training camp and come back 10 games in.

Wideman though... he may be a great teammate, but he's useless on the ice. As bad as Kovacevic was last game, he still brings more than Wideman. Matheson can't come back soon enough though.
Back injuries are tricky, and yes he had a tough game. Teams are starting to catch on to the young 3D's
Not a fan of Harris on the right.

Was at the game. The first line played very well. Hoffman made many blunders, so frustrating to see how each play dies on his stick. I was front row and could see the players like I never saw them. Hoffman and Drouin are too slow to process the game. On defense, Guhle and Edmundson made many mistakes with their passes but the worst by far was Wideman which was often out of position and getting pushed around by Vegas. Bring Kovacevic next game. Xhekaj has a good first pass and keeps players honest in the crease. He has to stay all year. In each of the three periods, he was sent at the beginning of the period but with different forwards each time. If we can get Heineman to play, Hoffman or Drouin has to go. Drouin in particular looked completely lost in his world and I thought he should sit and take care of himself... it was painful to watch.

One good thing is we have many big players now, it shows. We need a big team when facing lines like the Carrier line.

Overall, fun to watch the kids!

Slafgoalsky? OK, I guess it rings cooler when used as part of foreign language lyrics. Not something an English speaker would gravitate towards, it seems to me — doesn’t roll off the tongue like say Goal Caufield.

But hey, Slaf gets a song in his name already, I’m assuming from a Slovakian artist. His following must be epic back home.

He was thrown out of the game in 3rd period with a 5 minute major for boarding Pietroangelo.
Seemed like a hockey play to me...

The rookies will look worse for wear as NHL season grind sets in. It is totally normal and to be expected. Hopefully Matherson's return will help AND Eddy will look sharper after 10 games or so. Rookies need solid veteran leadership and stability to help them through their first season. There WILL be slumps and really tough periods for them. No question.

Can’t complain about losses like that against a top team in Vegas:

Suzuki 2 goals
Caufield a goal and an assist
Dach with 3 assists
Guhle with 2 assists
Slafkovsky with a goal

Looking good for the future.
Sums it up for me. Fun game to watch all things considered and the youth shined.

Biggest thing thay stood out is that Dach should remain on that top line for a while. He's perfect in that RW role.
