maybe I'm suffering from PTSD from our player development for the past decade+, but I need to see him dominate juniors offensively before coming to the pros.

He gives me DLR vibes.

If Beck was a Timmins pick there would be reason for concern.

But Beck showed more offense and an 18 year old in preseason than DLR did in his whole career.
How did Vegas not get a single 5 minute major when two guys took their gloves off and are swinging away at anderson?

And somehow the Habs still get a 4 on 3 followed by a 3 minute kill. I legit never seen that happen before.
Andy deserved a 5. I'd have to see the replay to determine if the 3 players deserved 5's or 2's. But when have you ever seen 3 players get 2's and 5's? Just because it hasnt h as opened, doesn't mean it shouldn't.

I just said this a few games ago when Slaf was hit. Jake was the guy who had to answer the bell when our resident tough guy observed.

Vegas reacted appropriately, Habs didn’t.
How do you instil that — will it take more roster turnover?

I cannot believe how bad Drouin has become. Like show some pride my man...yikes. and as someone else posted would love to see a Anderson-Monahan-Slaf line...Bench Hoffman, Drouin and Dadanov for good, play Pezetta, and some other guys with potential or that will at least back check or throw a hit from time to time.

He was probably the worst D out there... Wideman is close to him.

But we'll have to wait for atleast 10 games till he gets his shit together.
Eddy was brutal, but that's what happens when you miss training camp and come back 10 games in.

Wideman though... he may be a great teammate, but he's useless on the ice. As bad as Kovacevic was last game, he still brings more than Wideman. Matheson can't come back soon enough though.

I think so. It’s a trait of certain players, a few have it but many more Habs don’t. Guys like Andrew Shaw would go flying in there. Need a few of these guys on the bottom six.

I was disappointed that AX didn’t charge into the pile.

I like Wideman but the way he always loses his battles in the corners because he's just overpowered it's clearly a problem.

If he could get 40 points a year and be a great PP quarterback I would probably let it slide but when there's no production it's tough to defend.

Nice to see Nick playing with a playmaker. Now getting the chance to finish plays in addition to setting up others.

8 goals puts him among the NHL leaders. Thanks Kirby!
The opposition can't just focus on him anymore. Read multi point nights. This along with his ability to produce even when he isn't playing his "A" game will push him over the PPG threshold. This has been my opinion for three seasons now. The very day I changed my avvy.

The contrast of play between those we'd like to keep and those we wouldn't is actually shocking. It speaks volumes about the previous GM's team building skills. :sarcasm:

Just saw Arber getting interviewed on AC. He left that 4 person interviewing panel with their jaws dropping.

They loved his poise, his assurance, his maturity and his positivity. What an impressive individual.

I thought Beck looked NHL-ready in the preseason. I think he'll make it next year
I had this very argument yesterday. With Beck it's going to be about strength and conditioning not about hockey IQ.

You really want to go there?

Suzy and Cole are Bergevin's heritage...

Ghule? Harris? Xhjekay?
Yeah I want to go there. How bad for how long did we have to be to get a sniff of those players? How long will it take to get rid of the other half?

There's zero hope there. Hopeless Hoffman.
Hoffman without hope. A shining beacon of hopelessness salted with a bit of despair. He's done.
He was still our 3rd best scorer last season. And he cost half the amount of garbage Gallagher.

I will take Hoffman any day.

What are you talking about mate?

This team made the cup finals like 2 years ago...

Toronto would probably build a statue for Dubas if that team reached the cup finals.

Kids are great. Suzuki, Caufield, Dach, Slafkovsky, Guhle, Harris, Xhekaj are our new core.

Vets are just awful. Putrid game from Edmundson. Bring Kovacevic back & play him with Harris. Move Eddie back with Xhekaj and sit Wideman.

Hoffman out after the icing call with 2 minutes left & f***ing turns over the puck leading Vegas to get the puck out. It's kept out for almost a minute. Hoffman should not be out in that situation. He's beyond bad.

I doubt Anderson gets suspended, but we'll see. Petro wasn't injured, got up quick enough to start punching & didn't miss a shift. If Anderson is, it's no big loss. He's been doing f*** all out there.

Slafkovsky-Monahan-Anderson should at least be tried as a 2nd line. Put Drouin with Dvorak and Gallagher.

4th line is a mess. Evans is not off to a good start. Hoffman, Pitlick & Dadonov are all basically unplayable. Armia is doing Armia shit.

Allen played well.

Perfect loss really. Kids played great. Vets are tanking.
Allen played well?

My goodness we were watching different games.

Just finished watching the recording of the game.
Golden Knights are impressive.

Suzuki's line was again very good. Dach played his best game on the 1st line.

Hoffman was Hoffman. It's really tough to watch him play now.

Secondary scoring is non existant. It's quite unreal.

I wish we would call up some more youngsters and waive (or trade if possible) the non producing vets.
