Wrong he was on the ice.

You did.

Lmao I don’t even blame Rossi on that, wtf was Slafkovsky thinking?

That’s an AK46 brain dead moment if I’ve ever seen one lmao

They traded for him to let him develop, not be a superstar or a 60 points player overnight.

I think he’s doing a good job with Nick and Cole, they’re getting better looks at 5vs5 with him on their line, way better than with Anderson, Hoffman or even Monahan anyway. Calling him useless or a disappointment is dumb.
I agree with everything you said. But I also agree with the post you quoted. I don't think he played his best game tonight, despite the assist. I thought he was pretty tenacious on the puck and tough in puck battles during preseason, but I don't find him as engaged over the last few games.

Having said that, thinking he didn't have a good game is not a criticism on his potential or career path. He got 4 years to allow enough time to reap the rewards of development. That doesn’t happen after 10 games. Just like Slaf, patience is key.

If we have to choose, I prefer Hoffman over Drouin, who's mostly invisible.

I also think Evans has not been very good so far this season. His tough start is a little under the radar since there are so many other scapegoats that are worse than him. I like Evans, but he's not been as good as in the past.

Also, Wideman needs to sit once Eddy comes back. He's been consistently the worse D-man all season.

I wanted him to do more. I’ll leave it at that.
Xhekaj played a solid, controlled game. He read the play well, sealed off several offensive rushes and made excellent outlet passes. As for not sending a message I watched the Wild broadcast and they talked about Xhekaj’s destruction of Kassian. The message has been sent to the Wild and the rest of the league.

I’m not coming down on him. But on that last shift, I’d like to have seen more… Not happy about clubs taking liberties with our rookies. Especially this one.

This team is clearly not bad enough to be in the Bedard sweepstakes but it's also not good enough to make the playoffs

So i'll call it right here right now : Habs will draft between 8th and 12th in 2023

Haha, one fight and the league is on notice. Lol.

Sorry, but Nilan, Odelein, Corson, etc would have charged into that pile. I don’t have a problem with the hit, but it is exactly the time he needed to step up.

He will learn but he didn’t do his job tonight. No way, Evans should have been the guy with him on the ice.

Which shift, the one where Slaf got hit or the last one ?

Because on the last one on MIN's feed, he was on Rossi the whole time and even pushed aside a ref to try and go beat him up. I thought he flirted with a suspension when he did that.

Edit: also, just to put things into context, Xhekaj was coming in over the boards for his shift pretty much exactly as Slafkovsky was getting hit, so it's entirely possible he didn't even see what happened, hence why Evans, who did, jumped right at them. Xhekaj just saw the scrum and joined in but didn't seem to understand what was happening. Next shift though, he basically only shadowed Rossi.

No big surprise tonight. Habs rarely win in Minnesota.

5-5 reflects exactly the type of team and hockey we are getting since the beginning of the season. Most of the time, they are kind of entertaining.

Not surprised by how a Wild shill account characterized X:

X was held back by a linesman, when chaos broke out:

Bottom line is Slaf needs to learn from this. He headed to the boards with the puck and vulnerable to his opponent. He didn’t anticipate the hit. He should have braced himself for it but that all has to do with inexperience.

Not surprisingly, Wild fans underscored the size difference between Rossi and Slaf to argue that the hit was legit but as anyone knows, it doesn’t matter what your size is when you have not braced yourself for a hit.

Couldn't watch the game live - meds finally kicked in and I passed out... so watched a replay. Well... nice game of shinny by Habs. Good news? SNNow stream quality seemed a lot better. That's about it. Bad game by pretty much everyone. I'll make an exception for Harris.

Starting to hate that Kaprizov guy...

Reffing was terrible as usual, but it didn't make a difference.

I am too tired to list everything that was wrong.

October is over. Buckle up! The NHL grind is about to set it.

So the size doesn't matter? Is that what she said?...

Funny, I just went and check hockeydb and saw that the pick used to select Kaprizov was a 5th rounder originally held by the bruins. They made a draft day trade for a 5th rounder in the next year. I never knew that.

Kaprizov was picked by the wild with the bruins pick in the 5th round of the 2015 draft. Of course the Bruins are also known for picking three underwhelming players in a row in the first round of that draft - with Barzal, Connor and Chabot being the next 3 picks.

What could have been for the Bruins in 2015. Thank God they shot themselves in the foot.

Did they neuter him after the Kassian fight? because I thought St. Louis was having there way with some of our players too.
