He was playing bottom six in MTL…..Not surprising. Better forwards and goaltending. Better team around him

Not every team, mostly the same few teams do well. Teams like Buffalo draft high but lose players and games. Canadian teams continue to lose. Boston retools. Florida teams and Vegas pick up free agents.Every other team can acquire good players and we can’t for some reason
Been the same for two decades
Sure, but that’s not what I said. I didn’t say every other team is good, I said they can get good players. Not every team, mostly the same few teams do well. The habs are making progress, but they have some distance to go to be a playoff team. Once they hit the playoffs they’ll see if they can win playoff series with the team they have. They need at least a couple of more physical D and a bruising fourth line. It’s good to have some skill players, like Evans, in the bottom six, but in the playoffs you need some guys who will wear down the other team and keep plugging.
The habs have acquired players recently, but they are not at the point where it makes sense to go after free agents. they should have lots of space and money in a year or two, we'll see how they do then.Sure, but that’s not what I said. How about you wait about a month to get a better picture. People here talking about cups after 2 wins and then wanna jump off a building after 2 losses. It’s not really crazy to expect the team to look better from two years ago.
If you take note of the names, it's that annoying pro tank group. It's funny and sad that the same posters who were sure that the Habs roster had no chance at the playoffs are also the ones ready to fire the coach after 5 games and a 2-3 start....
Coherent arguments have no place in the hot takes oven lol

Oh sorry, we do have a system of play. It's called chicken with no heads running everywhere. And we are also a team of smurfs skating in empty spaces.
meaning he's better, with a better supporting castHe was playing bottom six in MTL…..
The people being upset that we lost.
Next time, don't overvalue your team before the season starts. The Habs are still rebuilding. There's no reason to expect anything else but bottom ten in the league until they prove otherwise for an entire year.
Somehow I don't feel optimistic about it. Last year, collective poor play of that level was relatively fixed by the next game. It's been 5 games and they seems to be getting worst instead of better.I don't like the execution and effort in most games, but it's also so early, there's no point in thinking this is the standard for the rest of the year.
We just don't have enough firepower after the first line. Dach has been disappointing so far (some awful passes on the PP in the past two games). Newhook hasn't done much. Gallagher's line has been pushing hard, but no results yet.I don't like the execution and effort in most games, but it's also so early, there's no point in thinking this is the standard for the rest of the year.

It's like the boys told themselves "we are making the playoffs" and they are realizing it's way more hardwork then they planned putting into it and are all demoralized about it...

Some of those players are bound to finally score and get going. However, I don't think the D or the goaltending situations will be any better as the year progresses. It's average in both cases.
I’ve waited two years to get a better picture. They are continuously lost in the defensive zone, nothing has changed. How about you wait about a month to get a better picture. People here talking about cups after 2 wins and then wanna jump off a building after 2 losses.
fair enough, venting is always fair!A little worse may have been pushing it too far but hey.....i'm upset.
But let's face facts, it still isn't pretty so far to start this season and in 3 of our games it has been somewhat embarrassing.
I was expecting a bit better, we need to start really showing something.
Potential and promise is fine but Potential is just that......potential.

It’s almost as if I expect a rebuilding team should get better with time. Also the cheering for losses is when the season was already clearly lost. You consistently shitted on Marty and the team the last 2 years whenever they won games, and now you're shitting on them for not having looked better?
He,s better, beacuse he was already quite good, and surely good enough to be Habs’ #6 or #5 this season while waiting for Mailloux and Reinbacher to mature in Laval. Savard is loosing his steam game after game, and Barron is an AHL caliber d-man. So ?meaning he's better, with a better supporting cast
so what? I never disparaged Kovacevic. I didn't trade him. He,s better, beacuse he was already quite good, and surely good enough to be Habs’ #6 or #5 this season while waiting for Mailloux and Reinbacher to mature in Laval. Yeah, I know. But why did the Habs traded him ? Were they so sure that Barron would be better or Mailloux or Reinbacher would be NHL ready ?so what? I never disparaged Kovacevic. I didn't trade him.
Glad he's enjoying success
perhaps. habs simply have too many D. He was a UFA to be. Hughes doesn't win every trade. It's also early in the year, so we'll see if the young corps steadily improvesYeah, I know.
