Post-Game Talk: Habs lose to the Flames

Some may think that we deserved the win, that Markstrom stole the game. I say we royally sucked.

Our forwards as a whole totally suck. The passing is so f***ing bad. Passes are always a few inches off. Just enough to screw most of our attempts.

This rebuild will need so many resets.

I think I need a break. I wanted to throw the remote on my tv tonight.
So frustrating to watch.
If you thought that was frustrating, imagine how the Flames' fans feel. A team in disarray and probably being sold and re-located.

Seriously! We are a building team and they played well. So the tankers should be happy with that... and the non-tankers should be happy too. But... this is Montreal. Can't do happy.
It was an entertaining game. And after the last two years of watching tepid hockey and while the re-build is ongoing, I think that this is the most we can ask for and expect.

When your team isn't very talented it allows opposing teams to focus on Cole Caufield. He needs help.
That's why God created Hutson and Mailloux. Help is coming and its coming fast.

It's not his play it's his after the whistle schtick that gets soooo tiring. You would think at some point he would grow up.
He’s said that it gets him in the game. When he plays badly he goes and gets beat up for motivation, when he plays well he gets beat up after the whistle because he thinks it’s working.

Boy..........do we miss Dach....
Season became almost unwatchable for me, Suzuki was my favorite player but dach stole my heart last season.

The good news is at least this may actually be a long term benefit, if the team gets another 5-10 pick instead of 10-15 that is a player that can fit into the core window, we can also go hunting for free agents soon and. Hopefully the rebuild can come to an end next year

After 16 games
2 regulation wins
1 5vs5 goal for CC
No goal for Anderson
2 games for Dach :(

Those are atrocious stats.
RHP has no goal too.

And until Barron came and scored 2, dmen were pointless outside of like 2 Matheson assists.
The team still has a problem with puck support. Slaf/Dvorak/CC and Pearson/Monahan/Gally were the best lines to provide it and now they will be broken to get Anderson going because he haven't worked out with all his previous options.

I think the Habs are lucky that their PP is over 20% now, because otherwise they can't score.

The lack of talent up front was so obvious tonight. IMO we missed 98% of our passes. I'm not saying we missed the recipient all the time but passes were always a few inches off target. This really got me.
I don't think that has anything to do with talented. Every single one of the players are talented ((they are in the NHL dude). The problem though is DEFINITELY execution. I also noticed how the passes are either too quick or too slow. And some times the play is so sofffff. Like someone along the boards who does a cream puff attempt of pushing the puck out of the zone and it ends straight on a Flame's stick. SO many plays like this.

Execution is crucially missing. You can't tell me we lack talent, I just don't believe it.

Flames got a new arena deal so they’re staying in Calgary but it won’t be cheap supposedly they building a $1.2 billion events centre.

In these increasingly difficult economic times, nothing is certain. Nothing.

I doubt they are being relocated. Calgary just approved a new arena and construction should be starting imminently.

Gotta figure out a way to get the rest of the team scoring. Not going to win many games with 2 or 3 guys doing all the scoring. Not enough offence coming from the back end either besides Matheson. And yes, I know others have scored, but 1 goal a piece with few assists isn’t going to cut it. You need a couple guys back there with Matheson like production.

Does that mean that we should now be thanking Burrows for his inspired leadership? Our savior?
The RHP experiment has to come to a close at some point, doesn’t it? I love the guy, but he’s got to show some offence. He’s been up and down the lineup with nothing to show.

All parties signed off in the deal so looks like a go. Albert and aren’t pleased their provincial government is throwing over $300 million to help fund the arena.
