Show me the players
Soon, I think they're just shy. ;)

In fairness, we went head to head with the Oilers. Yes they outshot us and hit a few posts. But we missed a fair amount of chances ourselves. I thought our defense overall was solid tonight. Though I wasn't a big fan of Kovy's game tonight. He handled the puck like it was a hot potato. I enjoyed Harris's game though.

That 3 on 1 would of never happened if he didn't attempt that wrap around. Yeah he came back pretty quick but then took a high sticking penalty which costed the game.
oh the horror, the guy attempted to generate a scoring chance in ot. He should be fired.

His real mistake on this ot was not his wrap around attempt but the fact he stayed on the ice after his nice back check. Habs should have regrouped and changed.

Matheson was pretty solid tonight

He’s no pp quarterback though that’s for sure

Short memory. So many guys to hate over the years... Traverse, Ott, Ulanov, the list is long.
How can you hate this guy? lol

WTF was up with that? I know he took a stick to the face by the big doofus on the Oilers. Unless it was injury related. There's no way he should have been benched.

I think MSL went down to 3 lines in 3rd. Pezzetta got no shifts in 3rd, while Stephens got 2. Ylonen only got 3.

Roy got a regular shift in 3rd, so MSL already trusts him more than Ylo probably due to that dumbass pass Ylonen made in his own zone. I don't think he played after that.

Kovacevic and Barron: même combat. They aren’t able to play in the top 4.

That makes sense. As I saw Pezzetta back on the bench with a bloody lip. So I didn' think his injury was too serious. I do remember seeing Stephens and Ylonen.

For some reason I must have blocked him out. Because I think I only saw Roy once or twice the whole game lol Yeah I don't remember seeing Ylonen after his miscue either.

He’s not a first pairing guy. He’s in the wrong chair.

Moreover, he’s pacing for 58 points on an offensively starved team.

I get why people go after him. He makes really, really dumb mistakes. But he’s far from useless.

That being said, he’s also not a long term solution for us either. He’s good for the situation we’re in now.

Yep put him on a 2nd pair with a competent defensive dman where he plays against middle 6 guys instead of the top guys, and I think you got a good player in the perfect situation.

And he also kept McDavid in check all night long. And the Oliers scored their first goal on a wraparound. Nothing wrong with that play.
Clearly a matter of personal opinion. Wrap around attempts are cool 5 on 5 but 3 on 3?
I find it better to control the puck and find a higher percentage scoring attempt with your 3 man unit.

I watched until about the mid 2nd and knew this game was going to OT, which is pretty predictable for Habs games these days, so I bailed and wasted an hour and a half or so watching YT videos instead.
The tragedy is the time you wasted watching til the 2nd that could have been well spent on youtube.

I seemed to see Roy a lot. He played ok, and generally managed the puck well, especially along the boards in our zone.

We'll see how long Anderson is out.

Yeah man that's your opinion lol. But unless that wrap around has the goalie beat, you lose that puck possession 99% of the time. It's a possession game 3 on 3. The goalie was ready for that wrap like it was practice drill.

Contrary to many here, I was impressed by the Oilers. Could be the year. Coaching change seem to have done the trick. It reminds me of when the Booins got rid of Julien and hired the now Vegas guy.
They were a lot closer than people think last year. But if they continue with the solid GA record they will be hard to beat.

Don’t think this is true at all. Look at the depth on the Penguins the years they competed for a cup compared to Edmonton’s. It’s not even in the same universe.
I watched a game a couple of years ago that I’ll never forget. Playoff game against the Kings. When McDavid wasn’t on the ice it was all Los Angeles. But when he stepped on the ice he took over.

He only had two points but he could’ve had 15. It was the most dominant performance I’ve seen since Jagr in the 90s. It was a whole other level.

Last year, he and Drai actually had stats that were comparable to Gretz/Lemieux. And that was in a crappy team.

It is the total flipside to Carey Price. They played as well as they possibly could but couldn’t win because their goalie would let in some stupid goal.

Crosby may not have had the best goalies but at least it was “good enough”. No way he wins a cup with Edmonton’s team either. Pittsburgh had Letang and Kessel at different points and I actually think Kessel should’ve taken a Smythe in one of those years that Crosby won.

Both are elite players but I think when it’s all said and done, McD will probably claim the 5th best player of all time slot.

Game 7 both in their primes....McDavid or Crosby? I would think anyone with a brain is taking Crosby all day. A real player at both ends of the ice who processes the game vs a guy who skates insanely fast with the puck.
Crosby all day every day, twice won Sunday, AINEC
Armia had a great game. Credit where credit is due. His next good game will be in late January
He'll never be great but he's been fine this year since his AHL stint. Just sucks he's overpaid.

How many dumbass passes to the opposition did Matheson make?

I hope so. I want them to win. Not only because they've always been my second team even through the brutal years, but also because it would shut up the dunces in Toronto who bring up nostrils when talking about McDavid.
