How many dumbass passes to the opposition did Matheson make?

None really tonight. He was pretty good. The 2 errors was just not beating Brown to that puck on PP, but Matheson might have been tired. Plus, the play that lead to that puck leaving the offensive zone in the first place.

I'm pretty sure the OT highstick was a head fake by Nurse. It was one of Matheson's better games.

Game 7 both in their primes....McDavid or Crosby? I would think anyone with a brain is taking Crosby all day. A real player at both ends of the ice who processes the game vs a guy who skates insanely fast with the puck.

Pretty crazy how much disrespect McDavid gets. He's the best forward since Lemieux. It's way closer than people on this board say it is. Crosby has this aura and he's a top 10 player, but the way McDavid utterly dominates the ice when he's on is out of this world. Once he wins a cup the narratives will completely change, like they did with Datsyuk, but times 100.

Clearly a matter of personal opinion. Wrap around attempts are cool 5 on 5 but 3 on 3?
I find it better to control the puck and find a higher percentage scoring attempt with your 3 man unit.
That’s fair enough. But I think it’s easy for us to sit back and criticize from the living room. He saw a chance and took it. I don’t think it was a “low percentage play” I think he saw an opportunity to score and went for it.

You can’t predict that it’s going to bounce out like that anymore than you can predict that a shot block will go out the other way.

I get the abuse he takes. A lot is deserved. I mean he makes some incredibly dumb mistakes. But he’s overused, in the wrong chair and is putting up crazy points. People need to have some perspective on his situation. As much as I pull my hair out watching him sometimes, he’s far from the useless plug that people paint him to be.

And I think he’ll be trade bait too. If not this season, then next.

My point is that MSL is no different any of the other buffoon coaches Habs had in the past 30 years. Some players can do no wrong while others get punished for a single mistake. I am not saying Ylonen is anything special but I hate the preferential treatment most vets get while playing like utter shit all season long... game in and game out.

I thought Anderson and barron played great games today 🙄
I would love to see Barron play every game like that.

I mean we have choices at forward not so much on D. Canadiens don't want to overwhelm the young guys. D is a tough position to learn. I'm fine with Matheson taking the hits.

Really like to see young players like Slaf, Struble, Guhle getting to play big minutes tonight. They were all pretty solid all game, and show that the future is bright. They are developing nicely. Roy was solid in his debut and didn’t look too out of place. Suzuki is quietly becoming a very effective two way hockey player - I would not be surprised if he competed for a Selke in the near future.

What’s the point in dressing Pezz if you’re not going to play him? I thought he was very effective physically, and was basically the only forward we had making the Oilers defense a little leery of the big hit.

Overall an entertaining game. Our young guys played well, while some of our vets were garbage (Gallagher).

I agree McD is the best since Lemieux.

To be fair to Crosby, he missed a lot of his prime. We might be talking differently if he didn’t lose those years. And I give Crosby all the credit for his two way game and physicality.

But I agree with you. McDavid is next level and dominates games in a way that’s rarely seen.

McDavid is a stronger offensive player, but his 200 feet game and his leadership isn't even close to Crosby's.

As a team captain, if they were the same age, it's an EASY answer for me.

I try to defend Barron due to his age, but the truth is his game without the puck has been terrible. Some of the unforced mistakes he was making were junior level ones.
Barron is like a Dollorama version of Matheson.

Brings offense, good skater, totally lost on his side of the red line, brain dead.

Did St Louis have anything to say about Gallagher's dumb penalty?
Too slow to catch guys so he needs to hook -
when he's not winding up for muffins just inside the blue line.
I just can't with this guy anymore.
As per Evans, he's miscast with all the injuries at C.
High IQ defensive player, who doesn't think the game offensively at all.
He's in the wrong chair and that's not his fault.
He was fine in the FO dot and held McDavid in check.
He's a valuable addition to a team needing a shutdown C

Okay now I'm on the edge of my chair. What did you watch? Any amazing animal videos?
Actually I did watch an amazing animal video, which I did see before but watched it again tonight, about a guy who built a squirrel obstacle course and then watching the squirrel attempt it. Still a great watch.

Mostly though it some Photoshop videos on how to use luminosity, zone, and color masks to target specific areas of the photo that you're editing. Also got caught up on the latest few videos from a chick I follow on YT who "supposedly" lives in a truck camper (I doubt she does but who cares) since she likes to prance around in bikini's and yoga pants. :D

Matheson made one really bad play all night. It went back into our zone and he was way too cavalier and the Oiler player end around him and got a clear shot.

Other than that, a really solid game along with Ghule against McD.

I've seen the squirrel one, it's amazing.

lol now I'm jealous.

I'm still not giving up on Barron just yet. I'm old school, so with a kid this talented. I'm still willing to wait a a few years. Since D usually take a bit longer to develop.

I didn't complain about him once that says it all. :sarcasm:

I see Gally on the ice, and some nights, you just have to shake your head....his time has come. His expiration date is passed. Sorry guys, it just is...........

I see Price in his good year, goalie all look the same
The goalies got bigger which is why the initial changes in 2005 got less effective. Make pads smaller, now all the goalies are 6’3-6’6. They seem to have found a way to counter that in the present. For now..

That time of year when Bell hypocritically floods the airwaves during games and assorted sports shows with their mental health campaign, just before they announce massive layoffs among their broadcasting employees (while turds like Sean Campbell inexplicably hold on to their jobs).

Same as last year -- Bell has a knack for creating the type of distress and mental anguish in people’s lives that prompts them to eventually seek out the services Bell pretends to care about.

Yup them squirrels can certainly figure shit out eh b'y.

I can always point you in the correct direction when the Habs game is kinda meh the next time but she's quite popular on YT and should be easy to find. :)
