Last year when Anderson hit Pietrangelo from behind there were 5 Golden Knights on him instantly.
The way the team responded to the Slaf hit is downright disgraceful especially from the Captain who did nothing.

Yup. And many minor hockey parents still can't help themselves and even make it through 24 minutes before sending out that angry email.

But I'm having fun judging and laughing at people who go completely bonkers over one game of hockey!
Habs lose games all of the time, I think what got people to another level of passion was the lack of response to the hit to Slaf. That's why I showed my frustration.

Barron costs the Habs goals though. He's got zero confidence and is a tire fire. He needs to go back to Laval.
Is this the standard answer whenever a player who is waiver exempt struggles or has some bad games?

The Habs aren't competing for the Stanley Cup.

This is part of development. It's ok to not be perfect every game.

There is a difference between not being perfect and absolutely struggling. Barron is killing Guhle due to his tire fire play. He needs to figure it out in Laval and gain confidence. That's what Laval is for. When you are struggling over a prolongued period (months) you need help.

Actually, Guhle has struggled a lot himself for the past couple of weeks.

Barron hasn't struggled for prolonged period, certainly not to the level where he needs to be sent down to Laval.

He's a -3 and 2nd on team scoring amongst Dmen.

For most of this season, he's one of the player's whose progressed the most.

You can’t have a team play to lose lol is your solution bringing in a coach who will do that?

Lol
If team loses while putting up a fight... i am fine with that. I want a coach that will have his team ready to play for 60 minutes and that will have players that will push back and drop gloves when it is required. A coach that will sit players that cause 2-3 goals per game (Barron and Matheson). A coach that will know how to run PP and penalty kill and not go with insane approach that doesn't work. A coach that actually teaches or enforces solid and simple fundamental instead of not have a hint of any system or approach to every game. A coach that will not be afraid to sit a veteran same as a rookie if the don't bring it or f*** up on consistent basis (barron and matheson). After that, team can lose because at least they will be growing and learning in the process. This team learns absolutely nothing.

Was good enough for Xhekaj.

I'd rather take our time with Barron. He has shown some high end offensive skills.

We've been crying for years about the lack of offensive puck moving D on the roster and now posters are running out of patience and want to give up on players early in their development cycle. He just turned 22 years old.

Crosby thought the Habs got a steal from the Avs when we acquired Barron. Let him develop. He's a good 5 years away from his prime.
Maybe we can make him a winger because he sure as hell isn't a defender. All that raw talent going to waste because of processing issues. The dude plays under duress when there is no duress. I'm not sure what to think anymore I thought he turned a page but he's regressing.

He's not regressing.. this is typical for young players.

Progression for most players isn't just a straight upward line.. it's dips and peaks until the dips aren't as low or as long, and the peaks are higher and more sustained.

Doesn't mean it is for Barron. Different players with different games and in entirely different situations.

I don't get it…we all scream for development but we actually don't want to see it. We want to see waiver exempt players play flawless hockey.

I don't think this board knows what it wants.

They get mad when we win.. they get pissed off when we lose.

Have to win every game 5-0 and also pick 1st overall to appease this group.

Jesus Christ why are people blaming Slaf. for someone running him.
This was a case of payback for a number of hard hits on the Canes starting with Matheson on Seth Jarvis.
The reality of this league is if you lay on the lumber you'd better have players who have the mentality to either dissuade or respond to the push back.
We clearly lack enough of those assets to do either.

I think the being stuck in between is taking a toll. We've decided to try and eek out as many points as possible with the little talent we do have. The problem is the product is still very inferior. Meanwhile we see a parade of talent pass us by going to teams who already have more talent than we do.
The "Oh it's okay it's a deep draft " doesn't cut it and it feels like we have blown our opportunity to rebuild properly.

Don't get the urgency to get Harris in the lineup at the expense of Heinemen.

Hitting is still permitted in the NHL right,so Slaf, be more attentive and react accordingly.

Watching Mailloux in Laval have his own struggles defensively I can't think that Barron is actually better than a very raw Mailloux.

Everybody loves to say the Habs have the best lockerroom and best intangibles and heart and soul and warriors and etc. But it really feels like an echo chamber sometimes.

Other teams have sincere team toughness and edge but most Habs fans and commentators don’t follow the rest of the league so they figure clapping for Josh Anderson scoring his first goal is a sign of a tight lockerroom.

He's playing better than a year ago. There are ups and downs in a young player's development cycle as they try to figure out what they can and cannot do in the best league in the world.

Again...the masses here complained for years that we had boring old school defensive dmen and no PMDs. Now posters in this nuthouse don't have the patience to have a very young PMD with strong offensive tools from the right side develop even during a rebuild in games that don't matter.

It's lunacy but yet so on brand for this place.

I wish caulfield had Gallagher’ drive because right now he looks completely lost,a defensive liability
Read an article on CC.................his analytics are telling them, he is very much improved defensively, go figure, I see him somewhat lost out there right now too. The article said that only Patrice Bergeron from last year, has better metrics than CC defensively. Can't remember which blog....

Gally has noting left in the tank and his 25 second shifts are terrible now..............he needs an injury to put him on Robidas Island. He spends more time laying on the ice, than skating on the ice.....

Yeah that's fine we should be tanking , he's 22 , what's the excuse for all the loser 30 years old who do nothing every night ?
If Barron goes to Laval, then Gallagher, Dvorak, and Armia can join him.

Barron has had some brain cramps, but has also been good at times, and can actually score goals unlike a ton of our vets up front.
