What killed me is nobody retaliated to the Slaf hit because we were trying to tie the game, and then we took 2 garbage minor penalties in the last 4 minutes anyway icing the game, wish someone at least got their money's worth

They lose one tight game and that’s your response? The sky must really be falling.
Caufiel is good in power play nothing else. He scores +35 goals then ok but he is burden now. Opponent is having advantage when he is on ice.
Suzy is decent but not enough if Aho is neither.
This is long time observation not one game

I, for one, only wish we had a few more such just ‘OK’ and ‘decent’ players.

Also get ready for Reinbacher who is just a 6'2 Romanov, won't the drop the gloves either but will send the game into chaos with untimely hits and get our best players killed

It's one of the worst contracts in the league.
It's got nothing on Gallagher's contract, which pays Gally 8M this year and 9M next year.
The same Gally that can barely keep up for 25 seconds a shift.........................send this little engine that can't to Robidas Island...................

On many minor hockey teams there is a 24 hour rule: that parents can’t call the team’s coaches for a 24 hour period after each game to let passions/ anger subside. The over reactions you read here provide ample evidence of the soundness of the 24 hour rule.
Yup. And many minor hockey parents still can't help themselves and even make it through 24 minutes before sending out that angry email.

We are just fans having fun. Stop judging people. Talk hockey.
But I'm having fun judging and laughing at people who go completely bonkers over one game of hockey!

They need an elite 1rw for sure. An angry tall one would be sweet. Love Caufield, he needs other teams to worry about other lines to be effective again. His pp goals will take the habs to the playoffs again soon.

It will make a big difference for Suzuki and Caufield once we have a good second line behind them. We'll see next year how a top 6 with Caufield, Suzuki, Slaf, Dach, Newhook, and one of Monahan, Ylonen, or Roy does. And that's just the beginning. It will be added to and ameliorated.

Remember how good Caufiled was in our playoff run to the cup finals? That was 5 on 5, and playoff hockey.

And I'm the one in my organization who has to deal with these caring parents who see any unpopular coaching decision as adversely affecting their young superstar's anointed pathway to the 'show'. I usually start my initial conversation with the assembled parents by intoning that it is far more likely that their son has a greater chance of owning a NHL team than playing for one.

Compared to some of the frustrated and angry parents that I have had to deal with over the years, most posters here are Solomonic in their restraint.

The more I watch Barron, the more I have doubts about him being a reliable/ impactful NHL defenseman. I thought Harris outplayed Barron considerably last night. It would not surprise me if they stay healthy, both Harris and Struble pass Barron on the team’s depth chart.
It would be a shame to see yet another Hughes acquisition fall short but better it happens and is revealed sooner than later.

I'd rather take our time with Barron. He has shown some high end offensive skills.

We've been crying for years about the lack of offensive puck moving D on the roster and now posters are running out of patience and want to give up on players early in their development cycle. He just turned 22 years old.

Crosby thought the Habs got a steal from the Avs when we acquired Barron. Let him develop. He's a good 5 years away from his prime.

And Barkov felt the same about KK … they’re NHLPA brethren they won’t dis each other, definitely not for public consumption

Would be nice if in 4-5 years guys like Barron Hutson and Caufield would be taking the habs to the playoffs on the regular with offensive entertaining hockey and a nasty powerplay, and guys like Guhle, Slafkovsky, Dach and Struble stepped up in the playoffs. A unicorn player that projects as both would be amazing.

I'll take Barrons mistakes over all our useless forwards who bring absolutely nothing to the roster and play no D in their own end , Dvorak Anderson Gallagher Pezzeta Monahan are all sleepwalking out there , useless

Barron costs the Habs goals though. He's got zero confidence and is a tire fire. He needs to go back to Laval.
