It’s crazy that we win that game if Monty is in net
Montembeault will be one of Team Canada’s goalies. I don’t know whether that is more a statement of Montembeault’s comparative skill level or the woeful current state/ depth of Canada’s goaltending. I think it is more a case of the latter.

Everyone praising Hutson, meanwhile I cringe everytime someone over 5'5 goes towards him. Let's also not overlook the fact he's given up the puck about 8 times in the last 2 games. He'll be good, but he's not a savior yet.
No one ever said he’s a savior.

He’s just good. Is it okay to enjoy him and his game or is it not allowed?

It's gonna be tough without any depth. We finally have Dach healthy but Laine injury got us back to being a one line team.

Expected loss... no panic here. And Suzuki has always been a slow starter. By the end of the year, he will be the habs best points producer with around 80 points... but will have like 2 points in his first 8 games, classic Suzuki.

Slaf also looks like a slow starter, but will finish in front of Caufield for points total. The one that I'm worried about is Caufield... that 7.85 millions a year contract will look bad in 2 years. The guy is soft beyond belief... I feel like he's holding back Suzuki a lot with his poor 5 on 5 game. A complete liability at equal strength.

Weird ass moment to try to shit on Caufield when he’s been the only one doing something on this top 6 as of now. What’s holding back Suzuki right now is, Suzuki.

I am not giving up on him. I feel for any D paired with #52

Take a look at TOI statistics for those two and you'll understand which one of them is judged by the coaching staff as barely able to play NHL-level hockey.

Suzuki has been quite timid since preseason
He looks heavy and execution has been quite poor. He’ll get better for sure but it’s kinda funny how to only guy doing something is getting crap on for nothing lol.

The state of Canada’s goalies is a mess. I never imagined it could get as bad as it’s gotten.

Was watching a men vs. boys match yesterday...it was especially brutal for Matheson. Bad decision after bad decision.
I still don't understand why we don't have more shots from our defense...this team is not in a position to afford to just make pretty goals...tap to tap goals.....
How many times do you see player having a clear chance to shoot at the goal...trying to make a pass.

Who cares about stats after two games. A season is a marathon, not a sprint. What I'm saying is that if Caufield turns to be a Alex Debrincat ish kind of player, an expensive pp specialist, complementary type player, then it would be a huge disappointment. A kind of player that Chicago and Ottawa who were in rebuilding process didn't want and got dumped away like a scrub. Watching Caufield play, just with the eye test, I don't like what I see from him. And 7.85 millions a year, that's expensive as hell for that kind of player imo.

No goaltending tonight, back to back games, team looked tired. Slaf looked lost. Dach sometimes I think he'd make a good two-way third liner. Second line I don't know, thinking he's 20 goals 45 points. Wifi 7th D? Struble if healthy should play next game instead.

Bad game, Bruins gave us chances to get back in. They big team, defense like theirs in front of Swayman going to be hard out in playoffs. If they get in.
