There something missing in his game but cant really point it out.

He is not really engaging in the game. I know he's a hard-nosed kid. Thomas needs to start getting physical to get involved.

Maybe its pressure though.......

Weren't people laughing at MB because he was impressed by Bournival at camp?

I think people were skeptical of MB last year too when he proffered that Gallagher was NHL ready.

Seems like he's kind of good at player evaluation.

LL could have potted two goals in one game just like Bournival did.

He didnt.

Results>>Potential

Did Thomas pot 2 goals? Wasn't aware of that..
Was that the measuring stick? Score two goals in your first game versus the Bruins, against the Krejci line, on a line with White and Moen, or else you're going home?

LL was having a good camp. He didn't have to score a goal or two in first game to remain here.

Any boxscores?
Not that I can find.

Pateryn scored from Desharnais and I think Patches.

Bournival scored from Holland (not sure if there was a second assist).

Galchenyuk scored from, I think, Prust and Nygren.

Desharnais scored from, I think, Collberg.

Don't quote me on those, I can't remember. It's hard when the Habs score four goals in one period.

Budaj was also awesome. Best goalie performance of the pre-season so far for a Habs goalie.

Honestly, I am not impressed at all with Thomas and am ready to see him board the bus to Hamilton.

McCarron and Bournival are the two standouts at forward.

I think some of you are judging players waaay too strictly for a meaningless game but in Bournival's case, it just reinforces that he's almost ready to be a regular NHL 4th/3rd liner.

If Briere and Desharnais do their jobs, we won't really need an additional sniper to start with anyway.

Haha McCarron. Sorry but he is out of place at this level give him 2-4 years I expect him to be in Junior after the weekend.

Good to see the Habs pop a few goals in, even if it is preseason. McCarron skating looks terrible. He looks like a lug out there. Park him in front of the net.

No one cares, it seems. It sucks when the Habs website does not even have a box score. ESPN is blank also.

I hope he ends up in the O for this season. Doesnt take away from the effort and skills that he is showing. It was a thing of beauty seeing him crash the net on the Bournival goal.

Mac is proving that he is not a slow skater.

I think its that he and Gally cant find each other. Thats either chemistry or he has meh hockey IQ. He needs to snipe, he dosnt seem to be too good at handling the puck or physical play. I dont know, he did play NHL and AHL and my expectations were high. Unimpressive so far, I think he could use some PP time sp I can see what he can really do.

That was beautiful. I was so caught up with watching that, that I missed Bournival scoring.

Mac is ahead of where I was expecting, and he has more than shown he wasn't drafted for his size alone...but he's definitely 2 years away from being in the discussion. He can skate, but he seems a little inconsistent. Not really surprising considering he's never played anywhere near this pace.

We have plenty to look forward to, no need to rush it though.

François Gagnon : "The Hurricanes brought a good they but they're not Tampa with Saint-Louis, Stamkos and Lecavalier" ! It's nice to have such dummies on air. Sounds like the ridiculous charter to me.

what were the dummies yammering about during intermission - couldn't tell but they were talking quebec city, bettman, phoenix, islanders, sounded like relocation talk

Personally think he looks lost most of the time and when he is not expecting it he is extremely weak on his feet. Just think it will take time and we shouldn't expect him to crack the lineup for a few years.
