Habs got manhandled worse than one of Lucic’s women tonight. (He had a girlfriend report the same thing in 2011 as well). POS.

I know they’ve played a lot of hockey lately, but to appear so nonchalant as one of your most hated rivals has their way with you on a Saturday night, really annoys me.

Play with some passion or find someone who will. This milquetoast bunch needs to be shaken up.

MSL lines changes ensured not a single line worked at all tonight.

Well I was calling for something similar to what he did...

In the end I don't like Newhook with Cole and Nick because they need a bigger body with them.

I don't like Anderson there, so it has to be Slaf. Or, Maybe Ylonen can do better this year than he did last year?

Caufield - Suzuki - Slaf
RHP - Monahan - Anderson
Newhook - Evan's - Ylonen
Pearson - Dvo - Gallagher

I’m not sure how people thought we’d be good. Our D is the greenest in the league and we don’t have any offensive depth.
Especially after Dach went down. We may have been much better if that hadn't happened.

I really like Reinbacher, but time will tell if that 5th overall in the 2023 draft wasn't the time to address that lack of offensive depth...

Anderson has given us exactly 90 points in 208 games.

Explain to me again why the hell we gave him a 7 year $38.5 million dollar contract?

Oh yea- Bozovin’s genius at work
Kent Hughes arrogantly refused to sell Anderson. At this point the fault and blame is squarely on Kent Hughes. He had his chance, just like with getting rid of Jake 'awful' Allen and he blew it.

The argument was The Habs would regress to the mean (ie. upwards in pt%) due to (1) natural progression from one of the youngest teams + coaches in the league and (2) fewer man-games lost to injury.

I can't make heads or tails of what's happening on either front, tbh.

That was the fear of another tank season... if we tanked to be as bad or worse than last year it would naturally imply our young players didn't progress sufficiently. That likely has all kinds of negative connotations and implications.

I mean Hughes was constantly bringing up Anderson's name in the press saying he was available and saying he'd take either a prospect or a pick for him.

I just think the interest isn't there. People complain about his cap hit, then expect another team to take on his contract.

I do think we can trade Anderson if we can get him going. I think the best way to get him going is to pkay him with RHP. Even better is with RHP and Suzuki, if that works for the other lines.

It was widely speculated that Hughes turned down at least one concrete trade offer for Anderson. About a year ago Pierre LeBrun reported the Habs were offered a 1st round pick for Josh Anderson and it was turned down.

I have no idea how Anderson can get going tbh but I am sure he will have one of his two yearly hot streaks at some point this year, maybe as soon as next game.

Dach definitely would’ve made us better and we’d have scored more for sure. But we gave up so many goals last year… We were never going to make the playoffs. I predicted we’d fall off around December and I still think that will be the case. It’s going to be a top ten pick this year again.

And despite 3 really good defenseman at the top, it's shaping up to be a forwards draft.

I don't care about tanking or losing, but what I do care is entertainment, which they have been failing at.

CC can't score anymore, Anderson should be sent to the moon, Matheson defensive play is cringe, the PP is the stuff of nightmares and the PK is so mindblowingly passive.

I will allow that watching a rebuilding team will come with a lot of pain, but I didn't expect that much pain.

The 6-5 game with Vegas wasn't entertaining?

They're a young defense and a rebuilding team. They will have many stinkers.

I never believed that rumor/speculation that Hughes was offered a 1st. Big contracts of vets are hard to move. Vegas had to give Pacioretty away for free. And that was with only 1year remaining on his deal. Same with the Sharks and Brent Burns.

Anderson comes with too much risk and we're seeing his downside now.

Anderson scored at a pace if 32 goals and 55 points per 82 games last year since RHP was called up, largely playing with RHP. I'm not sure why he MSL hasn't played them together??

But Anderson isn't the reason we're losing. He plays hard and draws a lot of penalties. The reason we're losing is we don't have good enough forward line combos. And with Dach gone, we don't have the personnel. But I still think MSL could be doing better with what we have.

You may have point here, a dad's scolding seemed to work for the panthers last year. If not, maybe they'll win more when it's the moms' turn to tour with the team. Something has to work because grasping even the simplest hockey concepts isn't.
The last there was a Moms's trip, they lost 9-2 to the Caps and the Moms were more interested in taking pictures with Ovy than anything...;)

Even the worst of teams look like they are operating within some sort of system.

The Habs look totally lost more and more.

Wait...did Dvorak played? That trade has to be one of the most idiotic on top of the other idiotic ones...

1st and 2nd round picks people. A 1st that could have meant Bystedt, Kulich, or tons of other better selections than him.

And a high 2nd rounder.
Or it more likely would’ve meant Scherbak, Juulsen, Poehling..

I think we were totally outclassed and outclassed.
Bruins loose their top two centers and their system still works.
We don't have a system.
Our PP is still horrible, why backpass and come with speed if your passing it to a player standing still at the opposition blueline?
Our PK is so passive it sickening to watch.
The turnovers 10 feet from each blueline is horrific.
Can't remember the last time we saw three clean passes.
The sad thing is it's the SAME issues game after game.
You need to start looking at the lack of structure and that is on the coaching staff.
