The honeymoon is going to end quickly here. They better think of bringing in more talent next offseason.

We had four consecutive games of good possession and expected goals metrics (first time in years), and solid defensive play.

Then the last two games have been some of the worst of the year. Just terrible team defense, constant turnovers and breakdowns etc.

It's a little odd.

Monahan was playing like a legitimate top6 C. Now he's invisible, maybe that's a part of it.

If they play out the year like the last two games they will lose many 7-1 games.

lol two things that even as an old man. I'm still working on.
It gets harder to do when you realize just how bereft of talent your favorite team is. I don't know what the solution is short term. Our top guys aren't progressing because we can't ice two competitive lines no matter how we juggle things. Shut down Suzuki and the offense dies. Monahan fell off the table in the past week or so I'm not sure if he has the energy to carry slugs all season long.

A great building block
Yes for sure. I remember when he was drafted and when it was the Habs turn to pick the NHL was going to a commercial before the Habs were to pick but MB was at the podium ready to pick before they even cut to the commercial so he was very happy to take Guhle it seems. Great pick by MB and Timmons here.

Dach and Roy will make a huge difference next year.

Do you see a trend in the Canadiens' new system?

Anderson has given us exactly 90 points in 208 games.

Explain to me again why the hell we gave him a 7 year $38.5 million dollar contract?

Oh yea- Bozovin’s genius at work
The same pro scout who recommended Karl Alzner.

Agreed, I don't want to keep bringing up the same argument. But we're really missing Dach. We still wouldn't be a contender with him, but our lines would be so much more balanced. I still love Monahan, and I'm on the fence on whether to trade or re-sign him. Considering our wing depth, it doesn't surprise me that he's dropped off a little. Even if he didn't have the injury history that he does. It would have been a lot to ask him to keep the pace he set early in the season.

Because Marc used fortune cookies to build his roster.

In fairness we played last years Cup winner. Followed by the best team in the league.

We hope. Dach has to show he can survive the wear and tear of an 82 game schedule.
Roy looks like a winner but again the next step is the hardest one to take.
I think Roy’s game will translate. He’ll be a top six. Just too much past success to ignore.

Dach i had so much confidence in. The injury is a wildcard but I think he’ll be good. We’ll see.

Yeah I expect them to show some pride and hunger on Wednesday. They’re not a great team but the last two games were still somewhat uncharacteristically bad

Definitely trade Monahan.

The one thing I noticed with Guhle tonight is just how available he makes himself we he decides to go. Too bad we have so few playmakers who can read what he's doing out there. A couple of times he was wide open because of his ability to skate into open ice and no one saw.:help:

I've said it from the beginning, MSL is a good players coach, that means he's a good assistant coach, not a head coach. He doesn't want to make the tough decisions for fear of pissing off the players. Habs need a hard ass coach to come in and put the whip to some of the players. *cough* Anderson *cough
