Savard has to go .We just have way too many good young Def and more coming.Monahan is a keeper to help along the young guys unless someone offers us a grade A prospect
Yeah, that's pretty much how I see it.

I can understand those that want to keep Savard as the big brother. But I say trade him and if there's room in the lineup next year for a second D big brother aside from Matheson, sign one as a UFA in the offseason. Really would be nice to have a 2nd 1st in this year's draft, if only for another Dach or Newhook trade.

They should trade them, no matter what
It would be hard for me to pass on a late 1st for Monahan, but I think I would pass. If it's a late lottery pick or a really good young player then a probably have to let him go. But I think he's good for the young guys to play with. I really don't want guys like Ylonen, RHP, and Anderson (who we should hope produces so we can trade him) stuck with Dvo as their 3c. If we draft a really good C I'll be much readier to move Monahan.

He is athletic and he’s not small. Now, he needs to understand ‘The Game’ better.
Last season I suggested better rebound control and better tracking of the puck through traffic were two areas that needed work.
Both areas are improving and a better understanding/reading of the game can only help solidify his base.
Quite often his best saves are still a result of messing up a bit in that regard.

Slaf almost blew it at the end of OT - drawing that penalty and giving the habs the PP. 11 seconds is way too much time to give to the Rangers PK’ers.

He’ll learn from it. Good thing Monty bailed him out.

Also, I don’t think Matheson’s passes to the left are predictable enough. He should point in that direction first, then pass it.

Stop looking at Jen's feet and look a bit up more 🤣
That gif @HabbyGuy posted in the GDT finally gave us a glimpse into what @sampollock sees when staring at Jenn’s feet.

Its sad i almost want Matheson injured to prevent the staff from over using him

The guy is just not a PP or a PK guy. Both suck and he plays the key role on both.

You gave up almost 50 shots and he played almost half the game. Do they really think it get much worse using others?

If you are in a development yr, see what Barron can do on the PP. Hell even Struble or Guhle. Reduce his ice time

It's hard argue against Suzuki and CC with all the success Cole has had in OT.

As much as I'd like to see it.
It's been stale for a very long time now. Either way Slaf has to play with one of Suzuki or Monahan.

We really aren't. Evans is better than him & Stephens isn't that far behind.
I didn't miss him to start the season either except for the fact that Monahan didn't get a top 6 spot.

What the hell happened I only had the audio and it sounded like we won the draw then I heard Matheson's name and the next thing I hear is Zib is making his way towards our net. I only saw the end result but not the draw.

That was total amateur hour from the ranger defense. So many clean giveaways that a better team would have spanked them in regulation.

This not a cup team. Maybe mid round fodder at best.

As for the Habs, I literally jumped on that save by Monty on zib in the shootout. Beautiful.
