My thoughts exactly. Which coach in the last 30 years would give this much role to a rookie offensive defenseman ? And people say he didn't like Xhekaj. Arber seems like he's unleashed as well.

I know. He plays the Zito type game to a tee. I like Kapanen too, not a fan of Boulet though.

The way he got Barron right back out there after the bad penalty is the polar opposite of the old school approach...

He's the perfect coach for bringing a talented U25 group from prospect to pro ... Remains to be seen how well he adjusts when we are icing a roster meant to win now... But I think it's foolish to doubt he can adapt well

Also I've defended Barron before on this site, but he's just not cutting it. He just has no consistency. One shift he makes great plays after great plays, the next one he shits the bed 3 tines in 7.3 seconds. Still early so we cab give him some time, but I'd rather play Struble than him at this point. 5 LHD sucks but it would still be better IMO

He was good tonight.
Excellent minutes for a bottom pair RD, decent for a 2nd pair.

Not sure what it is people expect out of him at this point?

In the category of things that will get old very fast this season:

Matheson is the 2nd most used D on the Powerplay so far this season

Slaf only played 13:32 minutes (2nd less used). Got 2 assists out of it. He clearly got something minor going.
Not too dismiss it but they were both second assists right? He's definitely starting off a bit slow but I'm confident it's just early season rust he'll shake off. Some rumors of a slight injury too.

Another has seen the light.

Damn, Hutson is making me tune in and pay attention. that was fun. winning is fun. We look competitive even without laine. I'm waiting for Hutson to hit a wall, but I don't know, he's got that PK energy.

Ok guys,i'm on the bandwagon, Hutson is really special :DD Montembeault look sharp, great win after losing 9 in a row against those scrubs but Dach need help, nothing against Armia or Newhook but he deserve a real winger like Laine or Demidov, next year will be fantastic.

I feel that the problem is more him than the teammates. He clearly does not have the spark that he had before he got injured.
