Habs : Gallagher + Poehling + 2rd 2022
for
Canucks : Bo Horvat

Habs gets their 2nd center while Vancouver gets a great winger that the fans would love and a replacement for the 3rd center line.

Big yes by Habs, but Canucks will laugh about that.

You don't know anything about the Canucks that is very evident...

Horvat for 1 is the Captain, 2. Miller takes faceoffs only he can't play the C position well other than being good at faeoffs. He is a great winger, who makes bad decisions with the puck.

No chance in hell is Horvat the #3C in Vancouver, Miller is stapled to the lotto line with EP40 and BB6

This proposal is horrible for the Canucks, they take on more cap which we can't even do and get a small winger who just signed a big contract. Love Gally, was a Canuck f*** up to not draft him but moving your captain who is a C for a small RW would be delusional...

Hard pass by Vancouver

Id do this if the Habs add their 2022 unprotected 1st and we add Pearson going the other way

I love how baffling illogical this is. Horvat is apparently a 3rd line center but good enough to be the Habs 2nd? Maybe do some actual research on the Canucks so you realize he's their second line center too and Miller only takes faceoffs for Pettersson. Montreal would take this and run. Hell, they'd toss extra draft picks and still make out like bandits.

Even if he was the third line centre, that doesn’t diminish his value at all.

I’m sure LA weren’t crying themselves to sleep when they had Kopitar, Richards, Carter down the middle and sure as hell wouldn’t trade the latter two at lesser value just for the sake of doing so.

  • Quality centers cost a premium
  • Unless a team has a major reason to trade a player, they won't easily trade players capable of playing center (see Carolina being perfectly happy stockpiling centers)
The only major reason this year to trade a player like Horvat (their all-round 2c and captain), would be if someone was at least offering an answer to their defensive woes. This isn't that.

The Habs should be happy Arizona had their own major reason (wanted to clear house) and gave them Dvorak when they did.

So Canucks trade their Captain, one of their best FO guys, and one of the best 2nd centers around the league for what??? I dont see how this trade helps Canucks in anything especially since they have enough wingers in Boeser, Miller, Garland, Pearson, Hoglander and Podkolzin. Canucks dont really need Gallagher at all.

The only way Canucks trade Horvat is if Habs trade Jeff Petry and Romanov. That is the only way the Canucks solve a problem or fill a need, although it again creates a hole on their 2nd line.

Yup Habs have an abundance of wingers and thin on C and D. Both teams wont make good trading partners.

Change Poehling to Guhle. Then it looks better. Maybe take the 2nd to a 3rd.

horvat for Guhle + Gallagher + 2022 3rd.
