My got the amount of obstruction in this game was completely unreal, almost as unbelievable that Pacioretty got an embellishment call on that play :sarcasm:
My friends are complaining that the Wings got away with a lot but I disagree - the Wings are TOUGH to play against but they don't cheap-shot like the cowardly Bruins, they make it brutally hard to go through them and to gain position on them. They play smart, they play with guile, they play like the Evil Bad Guys in those sports movies. They're just so damn good.

Ok, I'll let you in on a little secret.. I gave my cat a giant kiss after we won tonight. That was my initial reaction. Does that make you feel better?

Actually, it does a lot! 'cause I only saw you ***** about Desharnais scoring, thought you put more emphasis on your hatred than your love for the Habs!

All right then, I back off. it's all right to hate certain players ;) Just.. you know, not right after they made us win.. Give it at least an hour..

Just speculation, but the hilarious face Desharnais made when he scored the goal was an impression of Subban after his one-timer goal against the Avalanche.

Here I translated what she said from English to French using google translate for you, since you have a hard time understand what she said. I'm assuming, French is your 1st language here.

As a French Canadian, I'm insulted you had to use google translate

They were decimated by injuries last season. If Detroit can stay healthy, they'll be more than fine. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see them eliminate the talented but inexperienced TB Lightning if those two were to meet in the playoffs.

I was actually laughing every time the Habs dumped it in.

I dunno about all the DD hate, I thought I was watching a game from 2001 with all the clutching and grabbing and slashing and pick plays and all around interference being run on by Detroit.

I gotta give Babcock some credit though, he sure had his team playing the best planned hockey that the Detroit line-up can muster and almost pulled out a win on the road. Funny how a stifling system falls apart rather quickly on 4 on 4 when the extra space causes the man-to-man coverage system to fall apart.

That was probably the worst refereed game I've seen in a long time and I've watched Chris Lee in action at least 3 times in the last month. The habs were the better team tonite, nearly got outcoached and out-lucked though.

A rob? No way. The Habs were definitely the better team overall tonight. The only reason it was close is because we took the majority of penalty calls. The scoring chances were almost 2:1 for us.

I didn't see the game the way you did, but how could I? Have you rigged your TV set to present the action to your taste? Maybe you saw the Lightning game as just an overtime loss and the Flyer game as something the Habs controlled from the opening faceoff.

Fortunately, the Habs turned it on in the 3rd tonight. It's amazing how they've been transformed into a dominant 3rd period team. They haven't played this way for years. Before the 3rd period the Wings were outshooting, outplaying, and outscoring the Habs. Without Price the Habs would have been routed. The disallowed goal was a lifesaver.

Don't dismiss the penalties. Taking penalties is bad and the Habs took too many. To make matters worse, they didn't know what to do with their power plays. No, the referees weren't taking Detroit money under the table.

Quite surprised Detroit didn't get dinged with a single interference call tonight. Don't think it's much of a coincidence both our goals were scored 4 on 4.

The only game I haven't seen this year is TBL. Every game I've seen I've had the feeling we can win it. It's been a good while since I've felt we ca beat anyone on any given night.

Go Habs.

No they are just as annoying as all heck to play against.
Fantastic positional play and almost zero separation off ther checks.
Almost clutch and grab but they don't Type of game we used to lose 10/10 times
Until we started fighting through our checks Thank You Chucky. :)

I never knew the Wings had so many uninformed, whiney fans.

The Red Wings were holding sticks that didn't belong to them all night, which is weird considering what the first penalty of the game was for.

Gilbert has been excellent. Most ice time tonight. Better defensively Than I thought

I'll agree with you there. I may ***** and moan about the Wings, but they are a hard team to play against. Damn hard.

The sort of system you need to be physically powerful to break through with pure brute force, in order to create some room. McCarron would have been damn useful tonight.
