Ah man, I'm not eager to reach 40.

I'm going on 29 soon with our first coming if everything goes well and I feel old already.

I wasn't either but somehow....there's nothing you can do about it. ;)

Good on you to have kids at that age though. My girls are 7 and 4 and I know now I should have had them before....

********.....going in the main board is just never good for my health, and yet, I go in there anyway.......And I know that most comments are made by 12-year old idiots and I take the bait everytime....

Good overall game boys. We played great today. Howard had to be very good tonight.

Arguing on the internet always reminds me of this

Tonight was the first time I saw Pavel Datsyuk play live and boy was I impressed despite the fact that he's not in game shape. He didn't get the puck that much but he's so strong on his skates that he's able to properly shield the puck. His passes were also pretty accurate and that 'non-goal' he scored was a extraordinary beauty especially from where I was sitting. I obviously didn't see the goalie interference from where I was but obviously was glad it was called. Nonetheless, I thought after seeing the replay on the jumbotron that Price sold it pretty nicely ;). Alright enough talk about my 2nd favorite player in the NHL.

Concerning the Habs, there are a couple of things I remember during the game:

1) The Habs' constant attempts of trying to get the puck out of the zone through the boards. On several occasions, Habs wingers were stationary at their blue line waiting for the puck. When the puck got close to them, the Red Wings defensemen would put instant pressure on the Habs wingers and therefore delaying the Habs' breakout and continuing their possession in the offensive zone. From what I've seen, Detroit played a great defensive scheme during the game.

2) It was pretty frustrating to see the unbelievable amount of off-sides for the Habs. Some were pretty iffy because the linesman blew the whistle after a certain delay. Anyways, that's something I'm pretty sure the team is going to work on during the layoff.

3) I was expecting some good offensive zone possession time from the Eller line but was disapointed. Eller really didn't have a good game. He made several passes that people sitting around me were like: who did he intent to pass that puck to? Honestly, I'm not worried about his play since his line has been pretty good since the beginning of the season. I think he just didn't have it and will bounce back next game vs the Rangers.

4) Detroit puck movement was impressive to watch in the 1st and 2nd period. The puck didn't stay long on their defensemen' stick. At one point, it was almost one touch passing. They were easily able to breakout giving their forward a chance to carry the puck with full speed.

5) Unfortunately for Detroit, they played to protect the lead in the 3rd & fortunately for the Habs, they were able to tied up the game with a great wraparound by Galchenyuk. Love the battle of Galchenyuk vs ... hum, I think it was Kyle Quincey. Just love the fact that he's not just skilled but also feisty. That 2nd line was fun to watch on several shifts during the game. Shame that Parenteau wasn't able to score on both golden scoring chances in the 2nd period.

6) Great hustle from Desharnais on the OT GWG scoring his first goal of the season. Love the team's reaction after the win. Saw Carey Price celebrate differently than usual. Would love to watch that celebration again. Oh yeah, thought Tom Gilbert was pretty efficient. He's not flashy and he still gets giveaways during the game but he does the little things.

Anyways, plenty of time to practice for the Habs until they face the Rangers. That's it for me, sorry for the long post.

I liked PAP. Missed a wide open net, but I think him and Galchenyuk are going to be money all year.

Think the Bourque hate is overstated.

Eller was mediocre.

I only mentioned Desharnais because I defend him a lot. He wasn't the worst player on the team, but he was not good. He wasn't moving his feet enough like he had been every other game.

I thought Eller had a bad game. I was at the game live so it's a little different than watching it on TV but he was brutal when I was watching him. A few unneccesary icings and terrible passes.. chances when he could have taken the puck to the net but stopped up to make a bad pass.. circling with the puck until he was out of options..etc.

I honestly feel the same way

ill never be truly happy with the team until DD and Bork are off of it.

but if 0 points in first 20 games last year wasnt enough to get rid of him, i dont know what will.

He has more than 0 points now. Why don't you wait until he has another long fruitless streak before you replay your lament.

We are one of the easiest teams to pinch against because MT is paranoid we can't make a two foot pass out the middle....

I didn't see the game the way you did, but how could I? Have you rigged your TV set to present the action to your taste? Maybe you saw the Lightning game as just an overtime loss and the Flyer game as something the Habs controlled from the opening faceoff.

Fortunately, the Habs turned it on in the 3rd tonight. It's amazing how they've been transformed into a dominant 3rd period team. They haven't played this way for years. Before the 3rd period the Wings were outshooting, outplaying, and outscoring the Habs. Without Price the Habs would have been routed. The disallowed goal was a lifesaver.

Don't dismiss the penalties. Taking penalties is bad and the Habs took too many. To make matters worse, they didn't know what to do with their power plays. No, the referees weren't taking Detroit money under the table.

What? The Habs only had one powerplay, and they played very well on it. The Habs outshot Detroit by a large margin, and doubled their scoring chances. No clue how you can convince yourself they didn't deserve that win.

Without Price they would've been routed? Really? With double the scoring chances, we deserved to lose? Relax. The Habs were the better team, and the stats of the game support it.

You saw the game the way I did. Other fans didn't. If you go back in this thread you'll see my rebuttals to their posts.

Not the most fun game to attend until Galchy scored. The amount of offsides the Habs got was so frustrating. But a win is a win.
