I said Simon got 25 games for his stomp. He actually got 30. That was a weird one in that Simon was going to the bench. Ruutu had fallen and was kneeling on the ice when Simon comes along and stomps on the back of Ruutu's skate for no reason then goes through open bench door to sit down.

That was 15 years ago.

didn't he get exceptional status? lol

he's taking MMA training for the Blackhawks locker room and showers, gotta be prepared.
Yes he was granted exceptional status and did well his 1st junior season. And his junior career but hasn't developed into an NHL scoring line forward.

And that is fine but then driving a guy head first into the boards should be 30 games too. Just as dangerous.

He has seriously never made a play half as good as this as a Hab... what the hell!!
Because the NHL is DIRTY and the worlds usually isn't Plus NHL defense is much better than a team that hasn't been together all that long no?

Cutter Gauthier was a 5th overall pick. Please pick a guy like that.

Thank you.

Ryan Leonard or Dvorsky would be similar profiles.

When I watch Cozens, Brady Tkachuk, Snuggerud and Gauthier all succeed with different knocks (hockey IQ, foot speed and lack of production in a tough league, hockey iq and hockey iq)

I've really made some adjustments to how I value and rank guys with those knocks.

Especially for bigger players.

Decent hockey IQ is a must but foot speed can be overcome (Toffoli, Robertson, Point etc). Although lack of foot speed may shorten a player's career or at least their usefulness. Production outside the NHL can be affected by the strength and style of play in the league, teammates, adequate coaching etc.

He'll be moved to wing, or they'll trade him. Good energy guy, but that's about it.
I thought he was going to better than he appears to be. I have Quinn and Peterka in my keeper league and tried to trade for Krebs because I though the would be just as good. Another bad call on my part. I also thought guys like Veleno, Zadina, KK, Donato etc would be better than they are. I have been right more often though. Traded for Suzuki, Terry, Batherson, Necas and Frost in my pool.

Yeah, I did too. I had 2 players on my list in 2019 for our pick and Krebs was one of them, so..... lol
Broberg was the other one. I think with enough offensive support he can get to 40-50 pts territory, but mostly as a playmaker.

It should be noted I had Caufield at #7.

Broberg ended up going top 10 to Edmonton, and Caufield fell. I remember losing my mind over it. We're getting Caufield!!!

I was hoping to get Krebs with a later pick in my pool because of the injury he suffered before the draft. And maybe that injury is affecting his performance.

This kid is closer to Bedard than the three other usual top suspects are to him. He has the rare combination of skating, size and vision. Fantilli is already playing the point on Canada's second power play unit. Before this tournament is over and this young player gets some confidence and realizes that he can play and dominate at this level, he will be one of the top go to guys of Team Canada. This kid is going to be a star in the NHL. Maybe even greater than the consensus first over-all.
Bold statements here, but I’m thinking you may be right. I would offer up some pieces to move into the number two hole should it become available

Don't look for Lane today...he's not dressed. Don't know why. Luke Tuch is.

We talk a lot about Reinbacher for Habs...but Dvorsky being our pick would not be surprising at all.

As far as analysing prospects...yeah, I guess there will always be exceptions. I too would not have picked Cozens and Tkachuk as high as they were. But I thought Snuggle and Gauthier were great picks at their respective places. It's always about having a great mix of players so that you could play all sorts of games. Problem with Habs right now is that I don't see the winning a talent game. Reason why I'd pick Michkov, Smith or even Benson ahead of Dvorsky. Still...Dvorsky in himself is definately not a bad player.

In Dvorsky you have to hope that he keeps his scoring touch that made the Habs miss on Kulich, though by bringing a 2-way game that would complement Suzuki's game.
