It's easy to be enticed by Reinbacher's game though. The guy looks huge. Great skater. Good awareness. Is proactive.

Might not be a pick we like 'cause we'd prefer others....but clearly has the potential to be a eating crow pick...

He just commanded the ice that shift. On Austria. Against Sweden.

He shut down that Sandin rush easily and made plays offensively.

It isn't the sexy pick but it might be the hockey pick.

It's definitely the hockey pick. I don't see Adam Larson in this guy at all. I don't know wtf Button is talking about.

@Goldenhands is way closer with the Seider comparable. Whether he gets that good, don't know, but the potential is definitely there.

His defensive IQ has grown a lot this year. In 5 years we might be looking at a #1 d man who plays 30 minutes a night in the playoffs. He does the little things in his end the right way. Seems quite calm, cool and collected with pressure on him. I wonder how he is when he starts slumping because he's firing on all cylinders right now.

I knew Seider was going to be this good, I didn't know it would happen this soon. But Reinbacher gives me the same feeling.

What other draft prospects are playing in this tournament?

I saw Fantilli, obviously Carlsson and Reinbacher. Who else should I be watching for? I cant find a list.

Vancouver needs to dump cap. I wonder if they'd trade down if we took Beauvillier & Myers (25% retained) off their hands. To get #11.

That would remove $8.65m from their cap. We have the space to do it.

Then try to move up to #7 (Philadelphia) from #11.

Taken Reinbacher at #5. Then a forward at #7.

My dream .....

Have the Habs ever had a permanent Austrian player? I only remember Vanek but he just stayed for a playoff run.

I can see Hughes trying it. Get a top D & forward. Vancouver is pretty desperate. Whether or not we can move into #7 from #11 will be tougher.

Still, #11 could still get us really good forward.

We have the cap space to do something like that. But, I can see Chicago trying that too, and they have pick #20. #29 is a big drop.

We could also take Murray for the Boston first from Toronto.

Bailey from the Islanders but their first is gone this year but I'd take their 2024 1st and predict they miss next year.

We should have picked Nemec last year. If Michkov has gone by #5 this year, can we please please please get the stud #1 D man this year?

And for balance, yes we reached somewhat in the past in a strong draft on another guy who was stellar on a shit team against top opposition and AK46's career is often compared unfavourably with others from his draft year (but bollocks to that).

Brent Seabrook is right-handed too, but, yeah, I can see it. Would love him with Guhle.
Listened to Button on TSN690 last week and he compared Reinbacher as being in the same mold as a Adam Larsson type. He also said that he had ASP (compared him to Zubov) and Willander ahead of Reinbacher for dmen in this draft.

You'd best take cover right now Craig b'y. :)
