He solves a massive need for us and if you're passing on Michkov, I can't think of a forward that has a massive edge on him. You'd be splitting hairs.

I like Leonard, Dvorsky, Benson and Wood up front but they all have question marks as to whether or not they'll be top line talents, in fact, they are most likely support on the top line or a 2nd line player.. where as you can see quite clearly that Reinbacher will anchor your defense on the right side for a long time.
Let’s not make this mistake again please

Also I think people are underrating the forwards after Bedard. Bedard is so good loved and desired that the other guys kind of pale in comparison. But if you remove Bedard from the equation, and just look at the other forwards for who they are, you can see how great a forward group this is at the top. Passing on a forward at 5 in this draft would be a mistake.

Especially for a defenseman with questionable offensive upside. Sandin-Pellikka maybe.

What mistake? Reinbacher has legitimate #1D upside, saying to take a forward because we need one is also saying "we need forwards".

I don't think I'm underrating the forwards at all. Carlsson, Fantilli and Michkov are all special prospects who would be in 1st overall conversations in most years. But after them and Smith, there's just as many questions on the forwards, and I'd argue more, than there is on Reinbacher.

I'm slowly getting more to the point where if I was to put my money on anyone outside of the top 5 (the group above plus Bedard/Smith) on becoming a top pair defenseman or a top line forward.. it's David Reinbacher and Matthew Wood.

ASP offensive upside is grossly overrated. I wouldn't be surprised if Reinbacher's point production was similar.

Leo Carlsson is a special player. He is a faster version of Getzlaff. He's the player we all hope drops to 5. Him or Michkov. If its Will Smith that drops, then i agree that Reinbacher is in play.

Not a fan of Dichow's game. I'd have no problem letting him go. So big yet, so many holes that are evident.

Honestly, people blame Bettman for the most ridiculous stuff. It is amazing how entirely clueless most people are about his job and how they link him to draft/officiating conspiracy theories. Soon we will hear that he is harboring Bigfoot in his underground bunker along with alien space crafts and has Elvis on life support while he lip syncs Love Me Tender back to him.

After Covid and the Free Dumb convoy it is depressing to see so many people without an ounce of intelligence on full display.
look Bettman doesn’t help himself with his little man energy…the truth is he’s simply a mouthpiece for the owners, he has very ”little” input in decision making.
I think it was Chelios who stated “why would American owners want to watch the Canadians beat up on them constantly internationally?” & therefore suspend international play and not risk their assets becoming injured.

Hasn't been signed yet.. I'd still sign him and let him play another year in the SHL.
Reason why I said to let him go. Vrbetic and Dichow. We need to take decisions for goalies. 'Cause right now, upcoming....it's Dobes and Croteau. Really ordinairy to say the least.

They can sign Dichow and give Vrbetic an AHL extension.

Dobes is signed, Primeau is waiver eligible so we may lose him and Croteau is years away.

Don't see a reason to just give up on Dichow, specifically. He's not playing over here next year, and if he makes some technical adjustments he could still pan out.

You don't have to like the guy but so many fans blame him for everything that goes wrong, it is pathetic and utterly mindless behaviour.

And the owners did not suspend international play lol.....what are you even talking about? What do you think is happening right now with TC and the U.S.A. running almost entirely NHL manned squads and why is it then that it was the owners who came up with the World Cup of Hockey and intend to run this tournament next season?

Please stop yelling at clouds and deal with the truth.

Yeah moving Eller to wing, so DLR could play center ....
How poorly Eller was handled by Therrien boggles the mind. You have a perfect 3rd line checking center (who proved it in the 2014 playoffs). Yet he keeps getting shfited to wing.

I still believe we only had success inspite of Therrien. 2015-16 and 16-17 showed what happened when you don't have Price in god mode to bail the team out

Therrien is a hack, when they hired MSL I thought we got rid of him for good but they had to bring him back as a TV analyst

Habs must draft one with their late 1st rounder or their second rounder. Hopefully Hrabal will be available.

Hard to believe that this Finland team spent most of the past month on a camp together practising for this tournament
