Mix in some OT if you're so deadset on it making total sense. I gave you concrete numbers above and I'm not sure if you were to add them together it'd amount to 180 minutes either.
There is also shorthanded play with only 2 forwards on the ice.

Dude, your totals are too high. The fourth liners can't play 14 minutes when the first liners play 19 minutes. Just adjust downwards to be realistic, ok?

Funny thing about your avatar, the real-life Barron is often not so accurate either, LOL.

I was ready to do a mea culpa but after actually doing the math, if you take the lower end number I had for each. It adds up to 173 mins which somewhat makes sense if you add shorthanded minutes, OT possibilities and time spent with extra man...

So I think you owe an apology to both Barron's ;)

Edit: Actually I guess I will indeed do a mea culpa after all. It adds up to 188 mins after all (note to self: always double check when doing math on a forum). Remove a minute or two from the likes of RHP, Monahan, Evans, Ylonen & Gally and it's probably more realistic.

No, I did the math wiith the help of NHL.com site. Last year, with OT and four-forward PP and 2-forward PK and all factors consdered: the average time on ice for all the forwards is 181 minutes per game. You have 191 and it is just not possible. Your LOWEST guys have 14-15 minutes when that is almost the average (15.08).

Your adjustments are still needed.

Pretty sure Gally knows his days are close to being over, it's sad, we have all been big fans, but it is what it is...

Yup, I fear the attacks and attention he will get. It will be even more when Hoffman and Armia are gone. We always have someone on our radar I guess.

That 30+ contract coming after a value contract in his prime was not probable to be a good deal. It is what it is.

ylonen and RHP are ready. Maybe Heinenman is too. I don't call that rushing young players.

I'm not talking about Ylonen and RHP. Heineman is ready too but do you really think a full season in the AHL will hurt? And I'm sure there will be some injuries and he gets NHL games.

You forgot Farrell

I also think Heineman could benefit from a full season in the AHL, but not sure it isn't better for him to be in the NHL.

Farrell I don't think will be ready for the NHL.

His play on the ice in preseason will dictate where he starts. Us fans can chit chat about it but at the end of the day, it's a new season and those young guys trying to make the line-up, have to show up.

Habs have several options we can explore. We are not stuck. So for this reason, I don't see the need to be desperate to trade Hoffman and Armia. Those guys are established NHL vets regardless of their AAV/term left.

Nobody is talking about Slaf potentially playing AHL. Who knows how he shows up to camp. For all we know, Slaf goes to AHL like Barron did last year. Barron was "NHL ready" but they decided him starting in the AHL was for the best. I hope Slaf shows up and performs but we just don't know.

There are a lot of unknows and answers will come in camp/pre season games. I still think there is a fair chance we off load Hoffman from now till September but I'm more 50/50 chance. Not many teams have cap space and if we move him, we prefer not to take back a NHL contract. Easier said than done.

My only worry is Ylonen doesn't stand out, gets sent dow, but gets claimed on waivers before makes it to Laval, and goes on to have a good career elsewhere, like Ron Hainsey, Sesn Hill, Vokoun, and Beauchemin in the past...

Sometimes you have to keep young players for their potential, even if they can't immediately beat out vets that aren't part of the future.

Dvorak is injured to start the season, so we should be ok with 13F to start.

RHP - Suzuki - Anderson
Caufield - Dach - Newhook
Slafkovsky - Monahan - Gallagher
Ylonen - Evans - Armia
Pezzetta, Dvorak (IR)

We can go 8D:

Matheson - Petry
Guhle - Savard
Harris - Xhekaj
Barron, Kovacevic

Too many Goalies:

Montembeault
Allen
Smith

Wideman & Primeau on waivers.

Move a goalie and we have a 23 man roster.

No room for Heineman still. And, who knows what happens when Dvorak is ready to go sometime in mid-October.

I like those lines...

I'd rather Barron play in Laval as the number 1 D than be the 7 or 8 in Montreal...

I'm interested to see whether Petry fits better with Matheson or Guhle... Apparently, the advanced stats say Guhle was better away from Savard. But that's just what I've heard I don't actually know those advanced stats well...

Things can change depending on Dvorak's injury timeline. Would not be surprised if Hughes brings in a center on PTO with a gentleman's agreement they will be signed once rPrice and Dvorak go on IR. Someone like Pius Suter.

Slafkovsky-Dvorak-Gallagher
Harvey-Pinard-Evans-Armia
Ylonen/Pezzetta

Matheson-Guhle
Harris-Petry
Xhekaj-Savard

for those putting Dach on the wing Gorton said he sees Kirby has a center for the Habs so im pretty sure he's our #2 center

Not even that.. but that if the Habs acquired PLD, it would be PLD on the wing, not Dach,

Dach will be down the middle safe for a couple sequences where they need Dach to get Suzuki/Caufield going again

agree i wanted Dubois on Suzuki's wing perfect fit for that line

Dach needs to improve his faceoffs ( just needs practice ) but we need him to reach hes potentiel at center not on the wing im sure will see Suzuki/Caufield and Dach/Newhook

Drouin, Hoffman, Dadonov/Gurianov, Pitlick GONE

Newhook in.

Lots of opportunities for the young forwards if they are not excited and killing it in the gym they are simply NGMI.

Honestly, neither Slaf or Ylonen might even make the team if guys like Heineman or Farrell outplay them in pre-season.

Laval is gonna be fun to watch either way.
