When your team loses and you lack the wit to say anything intelligent, there's always this gem: "The other team acted like they won the Cup!".

A few Bruins fans uttered this meaningless cliche. I considered using it in their Wheel Of Excuses, but technically it's really more a part of a Wheel Of Coping.

That said, it was nice to see a Habs/Bruins game that felt like a real Habs/Bruins game. Can't enjoy the yin without the yang, and Boston will forever be our yang.

Yup! As much as I don’t like Toronto and a few other teams, Bruins will always be my most hated rival. Nothing will ever change this.

Loved Carbonneau but he doesn't need his number retired. Enough of that.
Same here. I feel a bit guilty agreeing with you because Carbonneau was my favourite player for awhile, but he's one tier below the prestige and accomplishments required to get your name hoisted to the rafters. Sorry Guy...

Don't feel guilty he was my favourite player too (by default, being the Captain of the Habs...) but c'mon now, we need to have some firm standards. The organization is trying to undermine itself to keep its aura of prestige. I squarely blame Molson for that.

I still can't get over that Gallagher goal..

He's been MORE than adequate this year
It really has to be said
That’s what having an entire offseason to get 100% healthy for the first time in years does - also Gallagher in true fashion used that time to recuperate & get himself into the best shape of his career

Never count out veteran players who’ve always displayed off the charts hunger & work ethic

Newhook and Anderson have zero chemistry, like they shouldn't even be seated next to each other at the team dinners. Nice win for the good guys, Habs are resilient.
The thing is RHP and Anderson had great chemistry last year. All summer I was looking forward to seeing them play on the same line, and seeing if Anderson could put up 25 to 30 goals - and then be traded for good futures.

Can someone tell me why they haven't played together this year???

Pearson needs to be traded ASAP, and we need to run with:

RHP Suzuki Anderson
Caufield Dvo/Monahan Slaf
Newhook Monahan/Dvo Gallagher
Pez Evan's Ylonen
Armia

No one cares
If the Habs play that way on most nights it's a win, all 4 lines contributing in different ways and solid defense and goaltending, can't ask for more from such a young team. I wouldn't mind seeing RHP with Anderson though, even if it means JA gets dropped to the 4th line and just for fun, it would be cool to give Joshua Roy a few games in the NHL to see how he looks.

I like the way this team is playing. They use the ice more effectively, producing space and time for their teammates, than I can ever remember seeing from a habs team. We don't have the horses, but at least this team doesn't play that bullshit coward's game that's been habs hockey since Jacques Martin at least.

I've seen people complaining about Dvorak, I think he had a good game overall and while I would prefer Monahan (or Dach if he was healthy) between CC and Slaf, Dvo is doing a good job so far with the transition/dzone play and even in the ozone despite his vanilla plays.

So even without production, his trade value isn't decreasing. :naughty:

And there is still a lots of works that needs to be done. Or players to be traded. This team will be better once Anderson is gone for example, but apparently Hughes doesn't want to trade him (o_O).

The Bruins fans, are the biggest bunch of whiners.................their board is full of Marchand's
Most are having a tough time today, dealing with the loss and how the habs outhit them almost two to one...LOL

Next Saturday in Bawston should be a good game, we all need this rivalry to ramp itself back up......a few habs wins oughta do it !!

The way the habs played Vegas and the Bruins show that they can play with the big boys when they want to.

exactly….I’m not with the guys who only want to watch losses so we can draft higher. If we are not getting a guy like Bedard, which means drafting #1, then it’s not that big of a deal. Besides, I like to see all these young guys today maturing and playing better. If we lose all the time what does that say about them?

One thing that is pretty obvious: we don't need Savard. Barron needs to play. Xhekaj needs to play. One of those 2 guys always sits when he's available. Matheson, Guhle Kovacevic, Harris are always in. Add Savard.....

He has another year on his contract too. He's a must move at the TDL. Like Hoffman & Edmundson last season, he can't be back next year. Too many young D pushing for spots (Hudson, Reinbacher, Mailloux).

I would be fine with a Montembeault/Primeau pairing. Might as well use this year to see if Primeau can be a backup. If not, backups can be signed in free agency.

Allen also has another year.

Savard & Allen together make $7.35m next year. That pretty much pays for Guhle's raise. We can offer him $8.2m if we move those 2, and not use new cap space.

Gallagher must have gone into off-season healthy for a change, which means he was able to get a full off-season to train. He looks like 30+ goal Gallagher again. Welcome back.

I've reading the Radio-Canada article this morning with post-game comment from the team and we learn that Slafkovsky asked to see Guhle's bruises from blocking shots.

Also, Monty confirmed negotiation for his next contract have just started. I wonder if they can't get close to a deal if the Habs will trade him and keep Allen.

That's fascinating. Maybe it's due diligence, or maybe they're figuring our his expected demands so they can convey to prospective buyers (ie Edmonton).

If one of Monty or Primeau become a 1a goalie for us it'll be a huge, or even massive, relief. I hope we see it happen.

Zero effort when own team doesn't have the puck. He doesn't even try. Should be scratched for that since 2020. What is the use for a guy that leaks 2 goals for every goal he makes ? Useless, brainless, effortless pile of dogshit.
Tell us how you REALLY feel haha
