Why do you like Kakko so much? I understand that forwards like him take longer to develop, but his underlying stats and watching stats are looking more and more like Kotkaniemi. He hasn't been good offensively/defensively this year.
Kakko is pretty bad relative to where he should be. 1st + Kakko is terrible for Guentzel

I'm not that attached to him. What I am annoyed at is that this team has so many flaws and repeating the same formula every year just won't get you there.

Plus Guentzel is a natural left wing which would basicly leave us with zero right wingers.

I didn't google his stats I looked at how he compares to players that have been drafted since the 1990s, and none of his comparables were top-6 players except one, and that was Milan Michalek. That is more efficient and accurate than watching a player.
No, its really not. The sad thing is you can’t tell me anything about the type of game Othmann plays. His strengths. Weaknesses. The kind of player he projects to be. Nothing.

There’s a reason why scouts attend games and watch players actually play. Numerous times, before forming an absolute opinion about them.

You’re new to sports, so I forgive your ignorance.

He hasn’t. But he also was stuck with Nick Bonino early this season, and then had a bad injury.

You’d know this if you actually watched the games.

Well, I'm hoping for better.

The deal that ends it from NY's perspective would be one of the prospects discussed AND Kaapo. Not the 1st. But maybe it's the prospect, roster, and some sweetener like a 3rd.

I think if it were just Kaapo and the 1st the deal would have been made to another club already. But I do very much like (and hope the FO does) Kaapo as one of the pieces.

I know that I can't because I haven't watched him, but that's not my job. Yes, scouts attend games to watch players play, but they also take analytics into account. This is one of the main reasons Carolina has been a great drafting team since DW took over. I was just stating that Othmann had middling stats in his draft year, had a good D+1 year, a poor D+2 year, and is now having an alright season in the AHL. I agree that watching players is very important, especially if they are not putting up numbers on the stat sheet, but what he has been doing has been done before by many other players, and they haven't had success in the NHL.

You do know if Kakko was any good they would put him higher up in the lineup. 43.9% of the time he plays with Kreider and Mika, so what's the excuse there?

Jack Drury plays with Bunting and Necas 24% of the time and he still has more points and better defensive stats.
