Injury and illness has again plagued the team early this season.
When healthy, this is a middle of the pack team.
The defense is extremely young and inexperienced. Right now they are plugging holes with call ups there.

For the sake of draft stock and having good returns on trades, I hope that they get healthy and pull it together before we lose players to tournies. Now that Luchanko is back they can name a captain and hopefully build some character, not let these huge L's get them off course.

Edited to add: We know these owners are good at getting people in the seats, marketing and advertising... my one stress is that they will interfere with George doing what he needs to do to ensure the best possible rebuild for a window around the '07's and '08's.

Do you think they will move Luchanko this year?

I think that George is smart, and has to realize that there is a very good chance they lose him for nothing next year if they don't. This is where I worry the ownership group may have a different opinion/may interfere. I hope that I'm wrong and that he is moved at the deadline, after helping lead this young group and turn the ship around once folks are healthy.

Budnick back from the ECHL this weekend. Thank god. We can't win games with 2 OHL level defensemen. I hope we hear good news on the injury front. Beauchesne was on the bike a couple weeks ago, so one would imagine he's close.
This is very interesting. I guess this means there are too many OA’s again?

McGuire is suspended indefinitely, Budnick could be a loan situation. I'm sure they're open to trades, but I'd keep Budnick, the blueline is too green.

McGuire seven games back November 15 against the Icedogs

Hey everyone, Flyers fan checking in. How has Jett looked? Obviously the points aren't there, but curious how everything else has looked.

Two points tonight and first star. His linemates are set now after the team had a rough bout with injuries. He comes as advertised, 200 ft player. If there is a knock I'd say sometimes he's too unselfish. He could have a couple more goals where he went pass first when he had the better shot. Once on a breakaway where he slowed down which allowed the opponent to get back in position, and tonight in close he passed where I thought he could've shot.

Regardless, the points are starting to come as the full team comes back online, and I'm sure he has his assignments/things to work on from the Flyers and the coaches here.

Team seems to have turned a bit of a new leaf after a very rough start. Let’s see how Sunday against London goes.

Reading the 67's board it appears Amidovski may be looking for a move. A McLean, Amidovski and Hawery reunion would be interesting. The inexperience would make a tough end to this season but future years should be bright combined with our 07's.
However, this year's Peterborough team may provide a good indication how this may not work out well.
We are short a forward once we remove our 4th OA, so although an unlikely replacement, it is possible.
Again 08 transactions can't happen until January.

Ottawa isn't in a buy year and Guelph doesn't have the picks for Amidovski, the only way this scenario with all three happens is if a Luch deal to London happens soon enough to then flip the picks to Ottawa. Unlikely.

Though I am all for trading away a few players to restock. Yes, there will be pain this season, but I like what I'm seeing from the youngsters.

If the situation in Ottawa is as bad as it sounds I am not sure the price is not discounted. Don't think Whitehead and Yanni are getting much icetime even in year 2.
Possibly the additions of players from USHL and BCHL may also lower prices with less demand if rumors are true.
Also alot will depend on if Amidovski is interested in Guelph.

I’ve been looking around to try to find some answers to this, so I thought I’d post here. I’m going to the game tomorrow. Does anyone have recommendations on where to park? I heard the parkades get packed and are a hassle to get out from after games. I don’t mind walking 5-10 minutes. Are we able to park anywhere over the bridge (I.e. Arthur or Queen street)? Or is somewhere on Cork or Macdonell best? Appreciate any insight. Go Storm! I’m excited to see Luchanko

Disappointed to see Matt Poitras healthy scratched and now sent down to AHL Providence. So much for Bruins providing more superior development the past year. Now even more unhappy and concerned he was not returned last year.
Hopefully just a short stint and he is back up soon. Maybe the new coach will be a positive for him.

Check out this '07 Core

D - Beauschesne
D - Singh

F - McFadden 7 pts in 17 games
F - Snelgrove 7 pts in 22 games
F - Katzin

Add to that the '08's in McLean, Stevens (a super impressive 11 pts in 21 games in his rookie season) plus a potential '08 1st rounder for Luchanko.

This season may be full of growing pains but the future looks bright. Interested to see who develops chemistry, lots of options here... strong down the middle.

Canucks fan’s right now or going crazy with how well Alriksson is playing and how he is now a point per game player, the sky is the limit now, I’m starting to wonder if he has the potential of Tage Thompson in the future if he keep taking monster strides like this
